This is a short guide for those who needs the best player or still have not figured out how to play my "flash archives" (.swf files)
There are other alternatives like Ruffle or FlashArch(if you're on a mobile)
but for now, I'll focus on:
"standalone flash player"
--------------------
• Step 1
Download the flash player:
Download it at my Mega folder, same folder of complete versions at the current "tier 5"
(name of the zip file is "standalone flash player")
--------------------
• Step 2
Extract the flash player:
extract the executable file (.exe) from the zip with the software/app "7-Zip" or any other zip extractor
(no password needed, so you can scan it beforehand if you ever doubt about it's safety)
--------------------
• Step 3
Associate all .swf files to the flash player:
Right click the .swf that you want to open/play and click "open with", now select the "flashplayer_32_sa.exe" that you just extracted from the zip file
--------------------
• Step 4
Enjoy!:
That's it, now you can enjoy any flash animation(.swf) file on your PC(windows) by just double clicking it as any other file.
--------------------
Important Notes:
✿ Why is the file at Mega?
I can't upload it here because Fanbox doesn’t like third party content here, so I’m not taking risks
✔ You can also download the “standalone flash player” at “archive org”
It is free and it contains different versions for Windows, Mac and Linux
☂ Is it safe?
It’s the one I use and I never had issues playing my, or any other flash animations ever after 10+ years of using it
★ Why is flash animation still being used?
unlike a video, scenes and sounds can be randomized, giving it a more natural feeling, but most importantly, you can interact with it by:
• Turning on/off background music
• Turning on/off subtitles
• Picking a different scene
• Lock into a loop
• Change frame speed
❛ᴗ❛) So that's why I still make flash animations
As I mentioned early, there are other alternatives:
Ruffle -> it's a web service in which you can import files there and play them
FlashArch -> a flash emulator for mobile devices (I havent tested it but a fan mentioned as a working option)
~ If you still have troubles opening my flash animations, let me know in the comments section of this post ~
