tl;dr

PayPal no longer works in my country. So I cant use Fanbox currently, and dont have confidence that I can get money at a later date, so I'm only going to be using Patreon for now.

PayPal stopped working in my country 4 months ago. I wanted to just keep money here and maybe payout later when PayPal works again, but found out that funds have 6 month expiration period on Fanbox.

I wrote Fanbox support, but only got the usual response that Japanese bank account or PayPal are the options for paying out.

For now it looks like I'm not gonna get that money, supporters not gonna get that money back, it will just "expire"

On Fanbox help page it says "we may at our own discretion approve a payout of expired earnings if you appeal with the necessary terms". so maaaybe I'll be able to get it if PayPal works again in the future? If Fanbox decides to give it to me?

But so far there's no dialog between me and Fanbox.

Throughout all this, unlike Fanbox, Patreon sent me countless emails reassuring me that they are keeping their eye on the situation, working on alternative methods to payout if needed, they were there to help. Fanbox didnt say anything, and doesnt seem to care.
