「野原を飛んで」の制作後日談！Behind-the-scenes stories from the production of "Flying over the fields"!
３人が空を飛んでいるかのように野原に寝転がっていたら、可愛いくて穏やかでいいなあとアイディアが出たので描き始めました。左が最初のラフですね。雲や鳥を影で映すことで、野原が空のように見える演出をしています。あかる君は最初目を開いていましたが、気持ちの良さを表現するために目を閉じました。I came up with the idea after picturing the three of them lying in a field, looking as if they were floating in the sky—a scene that felt both cute and peaceful—so I started drawing. The image on the left is the initial rough sketch. By depicting the shadows of clouds and birds, I was able to evoke the atmosphere of the sky above the field. Akaru eyes were open at first, but I decided to close them to better convey that pleasant, relaxing feeling.
土と雲の配置が確定したので描き込んでいきます。鳥も夏あたりに渡る渡り鳥を調べて絵に合う鳥を決めました。「コアジサシ」という鳥で東南アジアやオーストラリア方面から日本にやって来て、８月あたりにまた同じルートで南に帰る鳥です。なのでこの絵では帰っている様子になります。海辺近くの野原ということで、風が左下から右上に吹いているのですが、今となっては海の方向に飛んだ方が自然だったと悔やんでいます😅 全体の色味を変えて３人を描き上げ、あかる君の周りの野原の描き込みをしていました。Now that the placement of the earth and clouds is finalized, I’m moving ahead with the detailed rendering. For the birds, I researched species that migrate during the summer to find one that fit the scene; I chose the Little Tern. These birds travel to Japan from Southeast Asia or Australia and head back south along the same route around August, so in this picture, they are depicted on their return journey. Since the setting is a field near the coast, I have the wind blowing from the bottom-left to the top-right—though, looking back now, I regret not having them fly toward the sea, as that would have felt more natural 😅. I adjusted the overall color palette, finished painting the three figures, and worked on rendering the field surrounding Akaru.
そして完成！ラフと完成。野原の描き込みをしていたのですが、遠目から見ると汚く見えたのでやめました。３人も空を飛んでいる意味では離れていた方がいいのですが、心の距離を感じてしまったので距離を縮めて仲良しを優先しました。最初は虫網や虫かごもありましたが、この絵ではノイズと感じたので無くしています。細かいですが右下のコアジサシはたいき君の大きな声に反応していますｗ

And it's finished! Here are the rough sketch and the final version. I had originally added a lot of detail to the field, but it looked messy from a distance, so I decided against it. While keeping them apart might have made sense given that all three are flying through the sky, I felt a sense of emotional distance, so I brought them closer together to prioritize their bond. I initially included an insect net and a bug cage, but I removed them because they felt like visual clutter in this composition. It’s a small detail, but the little tern in the bottom right is reacting to Taiki loud voice lol.
