Hello all, TD here.
Ch4Up7 sits at 1,615 static images, 141 animations, and 37,306 words.
That accounts to 120 statics, 19 animations, and 4,945 words added to the project the past weeks.
Rose's scene is behind us and we are currently working on some Hana stuff. And let me say, I am so very very grateful for that. It was a ton of fun to work on, and I think the end result will please people, but we were in those trenches for far too long thanks largely to me. What I mean by that is, development has been a bit topsy turvy recently. Normally I write stuff, GIL makes images for them, and the pressure is usually on him to catch up. However, since this has been such an inordinately animation heavy update, I am now the one largely playing catch up to the prework he's done. And if I get stuck parsing out the logic or working on the dialogue for a given segment, it feels like I am dropping the ball. That said, the numbers aren't actually that bad; probably about average for update 7's pace. The chart guy can check me on that.
On the flip side, because of that, we have MORE than enough bonus images to carry us to the update's release. Knock on wood.
Which, to that point... we can't say when that will be yet, but we are getting the kind of anxious we get every time we close in on the ending of the update. There's quite a few (small) miscellaneous scenes and a remaining large set piece left, so the only question is how smooth it will go. Hopefully I'll be able to have a better feel for that next report.
I really do thank you all for your patience; even without the extremely weird year I've been having, our 4 month estimate after splitting up the update was so grossly and comically off that I've felt shame writing these dev diaries the past few months. I can only hope the update itself makes up for it.
As always, you guys are the best.
