Dev Diary 116
DESCRIPTION

Dun dun dun, TD here with the long awaited final developer diary of the Ch. 4 Up. 7 cycle.

We haven’t put the bow on it yet, but the production side will be finished within the next week and as usual, we will zero in the exact dates for the staggered release once my post-production work is near done and a build is close to being in our beta-testers hands. But for now, let’s lay out the incomplete totals:

2,015 statics, 170 animations, and 49,034 words.

That makes out to be 147 statics, 16 animations, and 5,103 words added to the project over the past three weeks. Expect those numbers, mainly statics and words, to tick up somewhat for our announcement post.

This has been a tough cycle for us, and to be honest, the postmortem isn’t pretty. This development cycle hit far more speed bumps / dead time than any other before it, and while I wish I could put it squarely on factors beyond my control (fuck this year, man), a combination of indecisiveness and malaise plagued my writing habits. There’s a spot of that in every update when I get to scenes that my head has deemed important to me, but it felt like this was a whole update full of that. Of worrying I’m missing the mark creatively, of fearing not meeting expectations, and just the general disconnect to the writing spirits up high that comes with doubt.

Which is my pretentious way of saying there’s been a lot of writer’s block over people screwing in a porn game, lol.

Whatever the case, the work will speak for itself. GIL has done his best, as he always does, and I am very excited for you to see that. We do not take a single day we get to work on this project for granted, and I will say it a million times more and beat it down into hell itself before it's all finished, that none of this would be possible without you.

Thank you, and please look forward to the upcoming update.
