Fightful Select has learned that Sheamus is set to leave WWE after his WWE contract expires.
It should be reiterated that Sheamus turned down a contract extension and was not released.
We’re told that WWE had approached Sheamus about a restructured contract when he was out with an injury. He swiftly rejected them. We’re told that his WWE contract was set to expire within months of that happening anyway, so there wasn’t a purpose for an imminent release with the 90-day wait clause.
Sheamus has worked in WWE for almost 19 years. Along the way, he became a four-time world champion, King of the Ring, Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank winner.
