DESCRIPTION

Hi everyone! The Ultimate DS2 modpack aims to enhance the game's visuals by correcting colors, contrast, overexposure and add even more realism with carefully chosen and adjusted shaders.

Happy gaming and huge thanks for your support, you are awesome!

In-game settings are all maxed out

4K resolution with DLAA or DLSS Quality

Frame Gen OFF (not compatible with RT)

ATTENTION: If you want to play with Frame Gen on, turn off these two shaders:

My modpack contains two reshade presets (SDR, HDR), RenoDX settings and a LUT image file.

I also attached the No-HUD and FOV changer mods from nexusmods.

No-HUD: https://www.nexusmods.com/deathstranding2onthebeach/mods/6

FOV: https://www.nexusmods.com/deathstranding2onthebeach/mods/16

RenoDX: https://www.nexusmods.com/deathstranding2onthebeach/mods/8

I included all these files in my modpack but I recommend checking them occasionally for updates.

RESHADE INSTALL

0. My preset needs RenoDX and the latest Reshade with Addons support for the full visual experience.

Download the latest Add-ons version of ReShade from here: "https://reshade.me". If the game crashes or experiencing bugs, try other versions.

Install ALL the shaders by clicking twice on the "Check/Uncheck all" button.

Do NOT install any add-ons from the setup, finish the install.

Unzip my modpack and copy EVERYTHING EXCLUDING THE @PICTURES FOLDER AND THE README into your main game folder where your DS2.exe is located.

Launch the game and press "Home" to bring up the Reshade interface, you can Skip Tutorial.

Manually configure the RenoDX presets in the RenoDX window according to the picture (renoDX.png). Both SDR and HDR use the same preset. I recommend merging the RenoDX window with reshade if its not by default already.

Choose one of the reshade presets (UltimateDS2_SDR_1.0.ini or UltimateDS2_HDR_1.0.ini) in the upper bar on the interface then press "Select".

Optional: If you don't see a difference or looks weird, you have to set the depth buffer in reshade "Preprocessor definitions". (check picture: preset_depth.png)

I recommend binding a toggle key to quickly turn on/off the preset. You can set this in the Settings tab. (PageUp for me)

You can change the preset effects according to your liking.

MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS SELECT THE LATEST UPDATED PRESET!

Feel free to ask any question on Patreon, will try my best to answer them ASAP.

PRESETS AND TURNING OFF HUD/EFFECTS

Both versions use color correction, and a really lightweight ray tracing GI/AO shader.

Performance impact is about 10%, turn off "BaBa:GI.fx" if you don't like it or need more fps.

RT shaders are depth based effects so you have to make sure the depth buffer is set correctly. "RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED" must be "1" (picture: preset_depth.png)

The two shadertoggler files are used to turn off HUD and ingame effects for immersion: character outlines, markers etc.

To turn them on/off I binded the "End" key to most of them. (picture: no_hud_addons.png)

The rain particles can be turned off with the "Right Arrow" key.

You can configure these hotkeys by editing the ShaderToggler.ini file.

I also use the FOV mod to change in-game FOV and remove additional effects like DOF, Vignette. (picture: fov_mod.png)
