Older commercials often have faded color in new transfers, or in old ones. I've been using Dr Dre's 2015 Color Matching tool to color correct sources, and try to match them with one another, and with what they should look like. This involves creating montages in Photoshop which show what the sources look like, and what I'd like the color to look like. The tool can't produce my desired result exactly, but it can get pretty close, usually closer than I could get through color correction and leveling alone.
