Wow, guys, it's been a ride! I have a legitimate reason to be behind a month for once - I moved! At the end of July my wife and I picked up our cat and our stuff and drove up (with our housemate Ikani driving the moving truck) to the Seattle, Washington area from the Bay in California! We have our very own apartment now, which is quite a change from living with 4 - 6 other people for 6 and a half years! We're settling in well, though unpacking is going much slower than I would like - we kind of pushed ourselves into a corner with how we put boxes and things in when we moved, and it's hard to get at the stuff we need to unpack first because it's behind the stuff we need to unpack last! Oops. Money is a little tighter than we're used to as well with a bit higher rent and a bunch of unexpected expenses while moving. We're getting by okay though, and my monthly streams (or 'streams' as the case may be) are helping a lot, as is this Patreon, so thank you everyone!! Socrates, my cat, is happily settled in and has already claimed a corner of our new rug for herself (you better not walk on it). It still feels unreal, like we're at a hotel and not our own home, but it's slowly dawning on us that yes, this is ours, and we can (rental rules aside) do what we want with it and live how we want to live. We loved our housemates, but it was time to spread our wings. They're also moving, one off by hirself and the other three to a new place closer to friends, so it was a bit of a sad goodbye knowing we'd never see that house again that we'd made so many memories in. However, now we can make new memories!
