I don't know how to start a piece like this. I'm afraid of saying the same things, having them lose their meaning, but I can't help but want to say something meaningful to you all. I haven't done much of anything here on pride 2026, and I feel kinda bad for that.
I want you all to feel just as loved and cared for as you've made me feel. My community, my friends, my family, everyone has made this the best pride of my life. So many new experiences, incredible people and unforgettable memories. I tried cosplaying for the first time, and I loved it. I went to a gay bar, wasn't really my style, I was kinda expecting something more social, but that's okay, I can at least say I've done something new. I went to my first pride parade, and that was incredible. I don't have anyone like me for miles and miles, and to be surrounded by people who understood, it was really something else…
That experience, connection, love, caring for one another, and just that peace of mind that the people right by your side are looking out for you, that's a feeling everyone should be allowed to have. I don't know if I've given people that kind of security, but I want to. The people that talk to me, come to me and open themselves up, those people that, against everything, still choose to be themselves, I love you all. I do all of this, I want to help people be seen, I reach out and try to be a safe space, I want to be a friend, because heroes like you deserve it.
You've done so much for me, the least I can do is open up and tell you all, you're very special and important, at least to me. Please, keep fighting, every time I see an uplifting comment about someone caring for themselves and keeping it together, it's an inspiration to me, to never give up. But also, if you're ever feeling broken or upset, please don't hesitate to say something, you are surrounded by people who love you and will listen, including me.
I think I'm rambling a little, sorry heh. It's just, times like this are beautiful, or strange, or brilliant, or even confusing, but that's okay. The human experience is discovery, even in one's self. I can't wait for everyone to discover who they are and who they will be, including myself. Life is sometimes a big puzzle, and the beauty of that puzzle is letting open thought and time dictate the next piece you put together. This pride has taught me that, allow yourself to be in the unfamiliar, you never know what kind of happiness is just around the corner. Be proud this year.
