So, I got an email from Patreon yesterday, and guess what? Apple wants more money and is going after small creators. But hey, all I can do is share the scoop on this new fee situation.
APPLE WILL ADD A 30% APP STORE FEE.
To avoid this fee, use the web-browser based version of Patreon if you want to join/modify your subscription.
Apple's fee will not impact your existing memberships. It will only affect new memberships purchased in the iOS app from November.
Apple will be applying their 30% App Store fee to all new memberships purchased in the Patreon iOS app, in addition to anything bought in your Patreon shop.
Do not use the IOS-based app version of Patreon!
