In case you're not aware of what this post series is for, this is an early preview post for my next game lined up after Reanimation Scheme is released — Fate of the Celestial Mirror, a xianxia otome/BL game!
Last time, I showed you guys the Inventory / Items system, and mentioned in passing that there's possibly hidden quests related to the items. So today, I want to talk a bit on that related topic with an example video of an instance in the game demo: finding a hidden book in a location that triggers a hidden side quest!
If you look at the attached video, sometimes, there might be small items in the backgrounds with a ! that you can click on to pick up. This may trigger a hidden quest upon pickup and might even lead to extra dialogue and hidden scenes!
Don't forget to check out your items in your Inventory sometimes too, because some items may be Usable, which may unlock secret dialogue and perhaps more... 👀 If you see in the example, Using the book you found in the Inventory resulted in a small scene and changed description of the book item. Now how will that affect the related side quest that was triggered upon pick-up too? Guess you'll have to find out in the demo ✨
Anyway, I hope you guys like this little feature preview! Although these are just small flavor / optional content additions that can be safely ignored without big consequences, I hope that small stuff like this can make the world feel more alive and make the game feel like it's worth replaying. 🥹
