Today I share with you a little story that takes place between August and October 2024, together with its music.
In the summer of 2024 I was excited and scared about a new adventure I was about to hop on, and part of that meant that I needed to change my setup completely, and move from working in a studio to something a bit more mobile.
I had my piano in the studio, and was sometimes improvising and recording things as they came up, without much thought beyond that most of the time.
"Booking Melody" is a small, simple idea I had right on the edge of those exciting moments, as things were about to get real, and not just in the mind.
Some months later, I was called to compose the music for a play that didn't materialize (yet?), and got reminded of that melody. Then I made "Leap 5" out of it. I think I thought "Leap" was the right name from the very first time I played it.
"Crossing the Straits" is another sketch from the discarded play soundtrack.
I don't know what will happen with this music, but I think it's looking forward to a new flower to bloom, or a journey across seas. For now it's in the heart, but it might also take place in the world.
