Chapter 12
After a few minutes of silence, Harry spoke, “Magical Rings and Family rights aside. What do we want to do about Gringotts?”
“What do you mean Harry?” Sirius asked.
“Sirius, we can just waltz into the bank, ask them to take us to the vault of Bellatrix Lestrange and pluck out a Horcrux.” Harry replied.
Sirius sheepishly nodded his head, and for some reason Harry had the feeling that is exactly what the old Marauder was going to do. The girls also sighed. They too, felt that is what Sirius was planning.
“Non. Harry is correct.” Fleur spoke up. “For something like this and of its nature, we will have to speak with the Bank Head, Ragnock.”
“Who?” Harry asked. This was clearly someone of importance to the bank, but Harry had no ideo who this person or rather goblin was. Maybe he had missed something in History of Magic with Binns.
“Harry, Ragnock is the Head Teller. The main goblin that sits on the tallest platform overseeing the whole bank when you first walk in.” Hermione explained.
“Ah.”
Though it had been awhile, but Harry distinctly remembered a goblin sitting in the middle of the bank. Who knew that the position was one of authority?
“Ok, Fleur, you work there, how do we go about doing this?” Tonks asked.
“Unfortunately, the only way we can go about this is to ask directly and hope it works out.” Fleur sighed.
“Well, we can still go about making some plans of our own.” Harry said. He then turned to Fleur, “Can we enter the bank under the disguise of Polyjuice?”
Fleur thought for a moment, “Yes, but the Bank has protection against it once you hit the lower floors.”
“Protections? What kind?” Harry asked.
“Well, beside the magic receptors, intruder wards, and detection arrays. The bank has a Goblin made potions the looks like a waterfall. Its called the Thief’s Downfall. Any enchantment, potion, spell, or disguise is stripped from the individual and then the carts are forcibly stopped and the passengers are magically thrown to the caverns below.” Fleur explained.
“Well, that’ll definitely be a last resort then. Hermione, any chance you have polyjuice stashed away?” Harry asked.
“Hold up, Harry, why would Hermione have Polyjuice just lying around?” Tonks asked.
“It’s Hermione. Plus we have been planning to go hunting for Horcruxes for the last two months. Well, Hermione has, I’ve been stuck at the Dursley’s.”
“Harry, you make it sound like, I’m overly prepared and always have the answer to everything.” Hermione glared.
Everyone in the kitchen just dead panned stared at Hermione. The stares eventually got to her causing her to avert her eyes.
“Hermione, I hate to tell you this, but you’ve been keeping Harry alive for years now, if you don’t have OCD in that department by now then i don’t know what to tell you.” Tonks replied.
Hermione just sighed. “OK yes, I’ve been brewing up a storm at home making anything and everything I could think of. I have enough potions in my bag to open an apothecary. Happy?”
Everyone just laughed.
“So what do you have?” Sirius asked.
“I have a cauldron's worth of every major potion. From Healing to some of the more Regulated Potions. You’d have a better shot of asking what I don’t have than trying to give off the entire list of what I do have.” Hermione said.
“Ok. So here’s what we do. We go into the bank polyjuiced as some random people and ask to speak with Ragnock privately. And we go from there.” Harry spoke.
“Well as far as plans go, we’ve dealt with worse.” Sirius chuckled.
“Sirius, the only plan I can see you coming up with is a prank.” Remus spoke up from the corner he had been sitting in this whole time.
“But from what I am seeing so far, we are leaving out one key detail. What if Ragnock sided with the Dark Lord? What do we do then?” Remus asked
“Play it by ear then. That’s the best we are going to be able to do in this situation, since we don’t know what to expect.” Harry said.
With that said, the plan was set.
