Boring Summer Ch7

DESCRIPTION

As Harry travelled through Diagon Alley, he was quite content. His boring summer was going quite swimmingly. Bellatrix and Narcissa acted more like teenagers in heat than noble ladies. Those uppity purebloods clearly didn’t know what to do with themselves.

As he wandered about, he went into a shop that sold foreign knickknacks and such things. On one such, shelf he saw a chess set that looked alot like the one from Star Trek. You know the one that the Vulcans play in their free time.

Figuring Ron would like it, Harry bought it. Now one might be asking why he would be spending hundreds of galleons on such a thing? Wasting his parent’s money.

And you would be right, but that would be under normal circumstances. No he was using Draco Malfoy’s money. Harry found a bag of Galleons in the pile of Bellatrix’s clothes she accidentally left behind that morning and upon closer inspection, the bag had Draco’s name stitched into it and if found to return it to him: Or he would tell his father.

So Harry being the responsible person he was, decided to help Draco spend Daddy Malfoy’s money.

As Harry walked through the shop, he happened upon a bear shaped pendant/necklace thing. It was jewelry. Let’s keep it simple. But seeing it reminded Harry of Millicent Bulstrode, and Harry couldn’t help but gain a grin. This particular grin would have given McGonagall goosebumps, and one greasy git a chill down his spine. This grin would have been the same that James Potter would have when he and the Marauders were plotting something.

“Excuse me, Ma’am?” Harry asked.

The older receptionist, hearing his voice, turned and looked at Harry. “Oh Mr. Potter, what can I do for you?”

“Well Ma’am, I was asked by my dear friend, Draco Malfoy, to get something for his girlfriend, and I happened to notice that lovely necklace over there on the shelf, the bear one.”

“Oh, yes. Lovely piece.” The lady replied.

“Well I was hoping you could help me package it up and send it to the girl with a note from Draco?” Harry asked with a friendly smile.

“Of course. What would you like the note to say?” The kind old lady thought it was very sweet of the boy to go to such lengths for his dear friends.

“My Dearest, Millicent, seeing this necklace, reminded me of you, and though we are apart, I eagerly await the day when we can be together. Yours truly, Draco Malfoy.” Harry told the lady.

The old lady nodded her head as the Dicta-Quill did its work, and with a wave of her wand, the letter and necklace were packaged quickly and sent with a lovely eagle owl.

Harry paid the lady, and smiled once more.

“Now Ma’am. Should Draco Malfoy and Millicent Bulstrode come in here asking about who bought the necklace, can you reassure me that I was never here? I wouldn’t want to give Draco too much of a hard time with his girlfriend. I hear there is a betrothal in the works.” Harry calmly asked, as he slid her 50 Galleons.

The old lady taking the hint, “Why of course Mr. Malfoy, I can’t say I have seen Mr. Potter in my shop at all. I hope you and your lady have a wonderful future together.”

Harry let out a laugh and walked out the door.

As he turned around the corner, he bumped into someone quite hard, causing them to fall over and drop their packages. Standing up, Harry quickly began to pick up the packages and apologize.

“I’m sorry Ma’am -” But he stopped. In front of him looking frazzled and annoyed was Bellatrix Lestrange, but dressed as a housewife?

What the hell?

“Bellatrix, your back already? You clearly didn’t have enough earlier. Come we’ll get you sorted.” Harry took her packages, grabbed her arm and began to drag her back to the Golden Snitch.

~Scene Transition~

In North London, an eagle owl began to descend on a summer manner. This manner was the Summer Home of one, Millicent Bulstrode. Now Millicent was a unique witch. She strongly resembled her ancestor’s viking heritage and looks. And though she had not yet looked like the curvy witches of her year, like Daphne Greengrass, she knew was still beautiful.

If only she could figure out a way for Draco Malfoy to realize that as well.

As the owl swooped in, and dropped the package, she fed it a treat before it took right back off. Curious, Millicent looked at the package and opened it up.

Moments later an ear piercing shriek could be heard for miles around. Could this be? Was this really happening?

Her father came barging in, wand drawn.

“Daughter what is wrong?” “Oh nothing Daddy. Only the most wonderful thing in the world!” Millicent exclaimed, as she handed her father the note attached to the letter.

“Indeed, this is a joyous occasion. See daughter, I told you that the Malfoy boy would see your beauty like I knew he would. You're as beautiful as your mother.”

Millicent could only nod her head, as she wiped the tears from her eyes.

“Tell you what sweet heart, let me go to Malfoy Manor now, with a betrothal contract and have the Dark Lord help me negotiate a deal with the Malfoy.” Her father told her.

She could believe what she was hearing. Getting up, she ran and tackled her father with a big hug.

“Oh thank you, Daddy! Let me come with you. I’ll get all dressed up and everything.” Millicent exclaimed as she hurriedly pushed her father out the door.

“Thank Morgana!” Millicent whispered to herself. “Draco noticing me is a godsend. Now what should I wear?”

She began to pull out certain robes before settling on a nice yellow one. Afterall the Quibbler did say yellow was for happy occasions.

“Yes, this will do quite nicely. Won’t it Draco?” Millicent then turned and looked at the Draco doll she had on the shrine in her closet. Seeing it made her excited and she could help but let out a little laugh, similar to the one she saw that Muggle girl with the knife, who was following her boyfriend who was with another girl.

“FU FU FU FU!”

Meanwhile, in Malfoy Manor, Draco Malfoy felt a chill run down his spine, but figured it was nothing.
