Hello everyone! I’ve been receiving some questions lately regarding my builds, CC, and game setup. To make things easier for everyone, I’ve put together this FAQ to cover the most common questions.
🏠 The Builds, CC & Mods
How do I download your builds? Each post/build includes the instructions-please read them carefully! You’ll need to download the Tray files and the items from the provided CC list.
Can you share your CC folder? No, I don’t share my personal CC folder. Many creators have specific Terms of Use (TOU) that prohibit re-uploading their work, and I want to respect their hard work. Instead, I provide a detailed CC list for every build.
Can I edit your builds and share my version? No. This is against my creator Terms of Use (TOU). My builds are for your personal use only. Please do not re-upload or share edited versions of my work. If you would like to showcase my builds, a tag/mention is appreciated!
Do I need to download all the CC from your lists? Yes. Every build has a dedicated CC list with all the links attached to each part of a collection. While I may not use every single item, i recommend to download all the parts of a collection, hence why they are linked. Linking each item will take weeks, this is the easiest method to ensure you have all the CC!
I downloaded everything, but I still don’t see the build in my game? First, double-check that you have unzipped the Tray folder. There should be no subfolders inside your Tray folder-the files must be placed directly there. Also, ensure "Include Custom Content" is checked in your Library filters!
The build is taking a long time to load or feels "broken." All of my builds are fully play-tested and work perfectly in my game. Because my builds are highly detailed, larger lots may naturally take longer to load. Please make sure you have batch-fixed the cc from creator if you are playing in DX11. (New Sims Update may have caused some cc to be missing, please check with the relevant creator if this is a issue for you)
What is your Sims 4 Gallery ID? My ID is SimmerVlogs. If you are looking for my builds there, please make sure you have "Include Custom Content" enabled in the side panel, or they won't show up!
Where do you find your CC? I mainly use Pinterest, Tumblr, and various creators' Patreon pages. Searching "Sims 4 CC" on Pinterest is a great place to start.
What Mods do you use? I mostly build, I use TwistedMexi's Better Build Buy and Tool Mod
How do you fix your game if it broke or won't launch? I usually don't have too many Mods so it is quiet easy to manage for me, I recommend using the Mod manager and Scarlet's Realm to keep up to date with the status of your Mods. Usually the CC itself is okay with updates it's mostly the Script Mods and overrides you will need to check.
Who are some of your favorite creators? I have so many favorites! I mainly use content from Felixandre, Harrie, Pierisim, SYB, Max20, Valia, and Sixam. Their work is incredible and really brings my builds to life!
Do you download merged or unmerged cc? I recommend to download unmerged files from the creator's so it is easier to find items if any are broken.
Did you update your game? I usually wait a bit before i update to ensure the update has not broken anything- that being said, you can also play offline through the EA app.
How many folders deep can I have CC? I usually keep my folders organised by creators (ea>the sims 4> Mods > Build> Creator). Do not create too many subfolders as this will cause issues with cc not showing up.
How long do you take to build? I finish all my builds within a week.
Where do you find inspo for builds? I like to take inspiration from Pinterest of real-life places, however I bring my own twist to each of the builds by experimenting with different layouts and landscaping.
Best advice for building? I am not the best builder out there but I believe going back to a build until it's complete is the most important advise I can give. It doesn't matter how long you take to build as long as you go back to finish your masterpieces! I also believe it's important to trust your own style and go with the flow. I recommend using Pinterest for real-life inspo and Youtube for tutorials. There is no right or wrong way to build, what matters is that you are happy with your art!!

What GShade preset do you use? I use a personal custom preset. However, I have shared several similar presets here on Patreon for free if you’d like to achieve a similar look!
What lighting Mods do you use? I use Sunblind by Softerhaze, EVEN BETTER IN-GAME LIGHTING by NSW.
How do you have high-quality graphics? I have all my graphics settings in-game set to max for all. I also recommend GraphicsRules.sgr | modified by Plantyl

Which Map replacements do you use? I use the ones by filipesims
Do you play on DX9 or DX11? I currently play on DX11.
