Hi Everyone,It's time for another Ear Training & Song Analysis (or ETSA for short). This is an ongoing series where I take a song I've never heard and figure out how to play it by ear. I walk you through my process, showing how a combination of ear training and music theory concepts can take you from guesswork to certainty. Sometimes it works out well and sometimes it's pretty tricky. Usually, by the end of the lesson, I have the key, the chords, and a few key riffs, bass lines and/or melodies figured out.
In this one we're tackling Jack Johnson's song "Banana Pancakes" from his album "In Between Dreams" that came out in 2005. I remember when this album came out! I was in high school and a girl I was dating asked me to buy it for her! I do remember listening to this album, but I don't think I ever bothered to learn any of the songs on guitar.
IF YOU HAVE A SONG YOU'D LIKE ME TO FIGURE OUT BY EAR, LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS!
