Hi Everyone,I'm trying to get back into making regular YouTube videos for my main channel and I've been having a lot of fun.
While I have a whole ongoing series on Patreon devoted to my Practice Thoughts, I thought I it would be fun to make a video to help my YouTube subscribers think about what good practice looks like. I wanted to make it fun (or maybe I wanted to show off my skills) with Mario Kart 8, so I thought of a fun way to compare the way people approach a video game vs the ideal way to practice an instrument.
I hope you enjoy it!
Also, in case you missed it before, I've got a new, more affordable tier for those of you interested in learning the basics. The Basic Courses tier includes:Music Theory for Guitar IMusic Theory for Guitar IICAGED Basics ICAGED Basics IIFor $7.07/mo you have access to these four courses (which you can purchase separately instead if you prefer a one-time purchase)These courses give a solid foundation for learning how to jam with other people, how to write your own music, and how to get to know the fingerboard better.
For those of you who haven't been a member in a while, I've also got some new stuff going on in my $11.67mo Everything Tier:How to Solo on Guitar: a series breaking down how to practice the individual elements of a good soloCommunity Challenges: I've been putting out weekly writing prompts for you to practice writing within specific boundaries.Ear Training and Song Analysis: In this ongoing series, I've been taking a song I've never heard before and showing how I figure out the melody, chord progression, and arrangement of the song using ear training, music theory, and some tricks I've learned to narrow in on the key and chord progression.Cool Chord Progressions: another ongoing series where I take a chord progression I like and show a handful of songs that use this progression. This series has been a lot of fun.
Thanks!
