Hi Everyone,Welcome to this week's Community Challenge: Write something with a V of vi chord.
In case you're new around here, a Community Challenge is a weekly reminder that the best way to learn music theory is to actually use it to make something. The goal of every challenge is to end up with SOMETHING to share right here on the Community Forum.
It doesn't have to be perfect, or even good! It just has to be something.
You're welcome to write a basic chord progression or a full blown song or something in between. It could be a simple sketch of an idea.
Writing is the secret to playing guitar forever. It's the secret to loving guitar forever. Learning music theory without writing music is like learning Spanish without bothering to speak it with anyone.
This video is a lesson on how to accomplish this challenge and how I think about writing something myself. I edited this one to just show what I wrote and then give an explanation of how all the parts work together. Let me know if you like this format or if you prefer the unedited writing section!
I can't wait to hear what you come up with! I listen to every submission and give feedback. The community is very kind and very creative!
Thanks for watching and thanks for being here.
Also, you're welcome to participate in any previous challenge any time you want.
