I've been getting hit with allergies, so I thought it would be a fun play on words to write something SICK for this community challenge!
Posting this one a little late today, but better late than never.
What is a Community Challenge? It's an excuse to USE what you're learning here to make something. It's an excuse to practice guitar by writing something.
Sometimes writing flows nicely and sometimes it takes an hour to get four nice measures. This one was the latter for me - I recorded 96 takes, tinkering and refining my guitar part until I liked it, but it was well worth it! I wrote something that was JUST outside my comfort zone and practiced until I nailed it.
Toward the end of the video, I show what I wrote on the camera guitar and explain my thought process.
You don't have to write something amazing, but be thoughtful and deliberate about your timing.
The word "sick" is subjective, so just focus on writing something you like that grooves.
