Begins with the death of a homeless man in the UK and explores the political ripple effect of this as the journalist penning the book deep-dives into the British homelessness crisis, very informative
Four Feet Under by Tamsen Courtenay
A journalist goes around London talking to homeless people. I don't love the way it's written but it's as real as it gets if you want to learn about the stories that lead people to the streets, comes with every content warning you can think of
Tokyo Ueno Park by Yu Miri
A poetic and heartbreaking novel exploring the life of a man who ends up homeless in Tokyo
The Book of Form and Emptiness by Ruth Ozeki
A novel by one of my favourite authors that includes various homeless characters in its ensemble cast, less centrally about homelessness but good exploration particularly of mental health and neurodiversity and how these things intersect with homelessness
