So as you all know I like to deliver at least 2-3 posts a week and this week I haven't been able to do that. I'm sure it hasn't escaped the attention of most of you that there's a massive heatwave in Europe. It should just about have come to an end, and next week it's perfectly workable temperatures again.
My house gets incredibly warm because it's a modern building that's made to keep heat in for energy efficiency, not keep heat out. This means that today I hit an interior temperature of 33 degrees and short of sitting directly in my fan, I was melting. I'm gonna install air conditioning in preparation for next year's summer.
The problem with rendering in an incredibly hot environment like this is also that my workstations are already running hotter too. And then there's the heat that the PC puts out. I'm confident that with my rendering rig fully pumping out shots I would've hit an interior temperature of 35 degrees, which would've been just two short of what it was outside. Not acceptable.
So that's why I've been slow to deliver new posts! But of course the moment working conditions normalise again I'm gonna go back to churning out renders. Stay tuned!
