I was recently explaining to a friend about why LEGO injection molded bricks are hard to replicate with FDM printing and thought it'd be a fun challenge to see if I could make tiny snap-fit joints (instead of LEGO's friction fits) and make my own version of buildable bricks.
Surprisingly, it actually works decently well! The parts hold together and you can take them off and put them back on in a different way. They're not as perfect as LEGO and injection molding, but I thought they were actually pretty fun!
The ratio of these bricks are 1:1:0.5 compared to LEGO's 5:5:6, so they stack up pretty evenly and should be good for architecture.
I'm not sure how much I'll develop these, but I thought it'd be fun to share the prototype files with you all! There's a .3MF attached to this post with a set of bricks to try out. I don't have a name for these yet and have tentatively called them Kit Bricks, but if you can think of a better name please let me know!
