Aileen Wuornos' life was marked by hardship. She experienced childhood abuse, was homeless as a teenager, and later relied on sex work to survive. Between 1989 and 1990, she killed seven men, claiming self-defense against violent clients. The court saw it differently, sentencing her to death.
