DESCRIPTION

Before SKYND became a sound, a case file or a shadow on stage, SKYND was someone else entirely. My imaginary friend.

He appeared when I was very young, too young to understand fear but old enough to feel it.He sat in my childhood room and played with my little Fisher Price cassette recorder, rewinding and clicking through the world as if he knew something I didn’t. From that moment on, he stayed.

SKYND told me stories I should not have known at that age, dark, fragmented, real. Gary Heidnik was one of the first. I was fascinated, curious, terrified and wide awake at night.Something inside me recognised a pull I couldn’t name.I knew I had to do something with what he gave me.

So I started writing. Notebooks filled with cases I barely understood, trying to process something far bigger than me. But writing wasn’t enough. Words alone couldn’t hold the weight.

I needed something that could carry emotion the way SKYND carried stories.

And then I found it.Accidentally, like all important things.

A tall 90s CD shelf.Covers screaming for attention. And in the center: one that revealed almost nothing. The Wall.White. Minimal. Empty in a way that felt dangerous.

I took the double CD home, put it into my old player, and the world shifted. It wasn’t just music. It was a structure.A blueprint.A place built out of feeling.

Pink Floyd has been my greatest inspiration ever since. They appear in my Spotify Wrapped every single year, like a reminder of the moment everything changed.

The Wall taught me that sound can hold pain, shape pain, transform pain. That narrative and emotion can merge into something powerful, something that doesn’t drown you but gives the darkness a frame.

It gave me the courage to translate crime into music. Not to glorify violence and never to reduce victims to headlines. But to remember. To process. To leave a footprint so the stories, the people and the consequences aren’t forgotten. So that maybe someone learns from them.

SKYND exists because of that moment.Because an imaginary friend whispered truths too early. Because I needed a language for what I felt. And because The Wall showed me how to build one.

And my favorite is and will always be Comfortably Numb, the anthem that has followed me my whole life.
