Announcement
With book 3 coming to an end, I have been trying to make things work. But it's been a while and I don't want to delay this any longer. I wanted to take the time and say... there's no other way around it... so does Industrial Mage. At least for now. It's hard for me to do, you know, stopping writing something I have been writing on and off for 2 years now (crazy). It's so much part of my life that I have this weird attachment. I can't let go. But I have to. So I just wanted to keep you all properly updated so you aren’t left hanging without hearing anything from me.
First off, thank you for reading Industrial Mage. For real. This story did so much better than I thought it would, and that’s all because you guys stuck with it.
Now for the bad part:
I will be putting Industrial Mage on indefinite hiatus.
I didn't want to do this, and I feel terrible right now. I tried to start book 4 and its not working. I’ve been stuck on it and trying to force it isn’t helping. It’s making the writing worse if anything. At some point I had to admit to myself that I can't really do this kind of story well at the moment -- and I mean what this story promises, not what I have been writing.
There's just a major conflict between what the story should be and what I wanna do. I know that's frustrating, especially this far in, and yeah -- sorry about that. I didn’t want to just disappear and leave you guessing so I thought it’s better to be open about it. I have been struggling with this for quite a bit, and a big part of that is that I wasn't really ready for this story. I started it more on a whim and didn't think things through properly, much like any other starting aspiring writer on this site — what kind of plots it needs, what structure it should be written in, what kind of story I am trying to tell. And what came out was a mess of stitched together ideas. A beautiful mess, but a mess nonetheless.
Regardless, this story has taught me many things as an author, and equipped with what I've learned, I shall segue into the good part I guess. I’m not giving up writing. I’m gonna step away from this and start working on something new that’s more suitable for me, something I can actually write consistently. Which, this time, I would be better equipped to handle as I'm far more experienced than I was when I began this story.
As for Industrial Mage, I’m not saying it’s dead forever, I'm not saying it isn't either. Maybe I come back to it later when I'm better prepared for it. but I’m not going to make promises I don’t know I can keep.
Every time I see people still here paying for nothing, I feel extremely guilty. I think I can do this no longer. For those that want any refunds please DM me, I will give refunds to those Patreon lets me.
You guys will hear from me again when book 3 is stubbed September 9th, 2026.
Thanks again for sticking around this long. Seriously. You guys rock.
