Hello everyone,
Just a quick overview look for everyone at long awaited Emma Frost preset, and her features.
Emma is a part of Absolute presets, presets that utilize recent skinned mesh WL feature to bring the ABSOLUTE looks of your favorite characters!
Emma is the most detailed and customizable preset yet. You can't take off skinned mesh without entering the edit mode, so Capture Vision starts to really shine, allowing you to customize the character whenever you want.
Emma's attire is not a single piece, but several. I looked to how Emma's clothes used by certain animators and tried to provide you with similar options.
You can customize small things as well like adding hair outlines for more stylized look.
Thanks to the experience with previous Dante preset, the sculpt of the face turned out really close. I spent a lot of time getting her face right down to eyes, lips, and even eyelashes. Body proportions also true to her Rivals representation, but...
But you know, it is really annoying, when people change character proportion, and it does not allign in poses. Well, I got a solution. Switch to optimized proportions with just press of a button under Actor Options.
I really recommend using Rivals proportions though, because they highlight design and shape of the characters better. And you can switch back to them using the same way with just one click.
I want to highlight the work that I did with materials as well. I spent hours spinning Emma's model in Rivals, figuring out how materials look. (Which was harder then you think, since the game is very stylized).
In the end, I am very proud with work with materials, especially, I worked hard to make skirt to show that grid pattern under the certain lighting conditions. Just like in the game.
You probably know, that Emma has high heels. And let me tell you, rig and fit her feet in there was quite an adventure. As you know, WL original suits does not even have high heels.
But I have a good news for Feet enjoyers.
With a bit of work and Batfeck magic, you can take shoes off with just a click of a button, which also would apply optimized proportions.
Is everything perfect? Unfortunatly no. I am still learning how to rig properly, so there are some issues. Still, overall, the suit turned out quite well.
When choosing between regular and ultimate preset, I usually look at the time spent on the model. If I am done within 24 hours of work, I consider it a regular preset. Emma took weeks to polish, so I put her in ultimate category for now.
Enjoy the preset.
Batfeck out.
