Villain introduction chapters are always fun. The general rule of thumb for the main badguy is that the earlier you can introduce them into your story, the earlier the protagonist (and reader) can start finding reasons to hate them, the better!
Doesn't hurt that this one has one of my favorite personality types: the Southern Gentleman. That's right, MC & company are going to come face-to-face with the Cotton King himself, bringing a Deep South element to the Westlands and all that entails with it, too. He may not have magic like the Headmaster, but he's got some tricks up his sleeve that even a ronin isn't prepared for.
