My summer! WHERE DID IT GO?! At first I thought summer was moving slow, but MAN...it seems like every time I blink it’s the next day! Enough complaining though...
Music Time!
🎀BAND-MAID Sunday:
It’s time to release the BAND-MAID beast and jump into “CAGE.” So far I have really enjoyed the last 2 tracks. I hope more music videos are to come, but with the Maids on tour and their break in 2027 who knows what might be next? Either way, I am excited to check out this track which happens to be another song with lyrics written by Saiki!

🔹Steam Powered Giraffe - “Brass Goggles”
This group has had some changes to their lineup over the years, but their music never changes and I appreciate their musical consistency. If you have never heard of them or seen them before then you are in for a treat. They dress as automatons and mime as robots. While their movement is impressive, their music...it’s fun, it’s cute, it tells stories...you’ve got to check this out with me!
🔹 Lords of Trident - Power of Evil (ft. Grant Truesdell of Unleash the Archers)
I saw the term “nerdy power metal” and I got excited about this one. I looked them up and I liked a description they had of their band that read their band is so metal that “only diamonds can scratch it.” I know nothing about this group, but from what I read their style has a uniqueness to it so I am excited to check it out!

Part 1 was fun and I am excited for part 2! A lot of you mentioned you watched it while it was streamed online. I love being a teacher, but man does it get in the way of seeing the concerts live since they are usually at a time I have to be asleep for the next day. I hope someday that a livestream goes up when I can actually watch one without repercussions. I can’t get over Saiki’s solo moment with piano! What else is next?!

I have flute sectionals coming up with both high schools I work with and I am excited to see their (hopefully) summer fresh faces. Their TMEA All-Region music just came out so they have a long 6 months ahead of them to get it learned for their individual region auditions all while rehearsing for marching band competitions at the same time! Band is not for the faint of heart…!
