Seeing Maomao reunite with Loulan/Shisui was a lovely moment and I felt happy for a moment before learning of the horrors that took place.
I want to believe that Loulan/Shisui has an identity crisis. We saw in the moment before the door was opened to the "sleeping" children that she responded differently being called Shisui.
Loulan is empty and heartless. She killed those killed even if she said it was a mercy killing.
Shisui wouldn't have done this.
