I'm here to give you a little peek behind the curtain because if anyone deserves it, it's you, our loyal patrons. Prior to the NBA postseason, Will hit me with an ask for a video covering something playoff-related. No guard rails, no specific series in mind, just postseason hoops content. Still don't know how I fully built up that trust in him, but I'm happy to be here. Anyway, I might haveeee taken the ask a little too literally, cause when I thought playoffs, my mind immediately went to Rewinder. I relayed that info to my guy… and Will wasn't particularly moved.
Rewinder is a series we purposely shelved, not because we don't love what it has to offer, but mostly because it's something we've done a shit ton of times. It predates our official name as Secret Base, and it's a series that really helped shape how we view long-form evergreen projects, moving us away from just regurgitating box scores. The first-ever episode of the series dropped nearly a decade ago, so yeah, there's been a lot of rewinding. However, when I talked the idea out with Will, he could see my excitement, which got him excited, and what was supposed to be a normal scheduled catch-up turned into us yapping on and on about how this could be an excellent opportunity to bring the series back. And for this one, I landed on a game that's been bouncing around my head for some time. The 2021 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals Bucks vs. Nets Game Seven.
If you're familiar with it, great; if you aren't, the quickest hook I can give you is that superstar Kevin Durant altered the league's history by an inch. I'll leave it at that. Now, there's a lot of meat on this bone, but why would I give it all away right here when you could simply press that play button above! I'm stoked to help bring back Rewinder after some time, and if you're as excited as I am, I'm thrilled to let you know this won't be a one-time thing. We're getting in the lab to refresh the series as a whole, so keep an eye out for what's ahead. In the meantime, as I always say, I hope you enjoy!
