I’ve been working on the base rig on and off from scratch, for the past few months, and it’s finally starting to come together. It still needs some test runs and a few quirks ironed out before it’s ready for release, but this will be the first in a series of custom character rigs I’ll be creating and releasing.

I’m especially proud of the facial rig. It’s based on the same system I used for the Black Cat rig, and it feels intuitive while producing really nice deformations.The materials have also been a lot of fun to work on. The rig isn’t highly modular or customizable for public use, but that’s perfectly fine for now. Since it isn’t meant to be a character creator, I don’t need a huge range of customization options just yet.As I continue using the rig in my animations, I’m sure I’ll keep refining it, adding new features, and improving it over time.
