This is one of those unfortunate demos that had so much promise in my mind but simply didn't pan out. I spent a lot of time making the string parts, which I loved, and then a wrote lyrics for it that I really adore... but something about everything combined just didn't click.
When it was conceptualized in my mind it felt similar to Datura in theme and style, and I loved the idea of having separate lyrics going back and forth in the left and right channels (you can't hear them super clearly in this bounce but if you read the lyrics at the same time you should be able to make them out).
But sometimes you can have a bunch of high quality ingredients that just don't combine well. Like I've said a few times already, when you are blasting out a lot of writing, you really have to be ruthless with your willingness to throw stuff in the trash or at least the "maybe later" pile. That's why the 30 day song-a-day periods work so well, if you know you are going to be making another one the next day there's a lot less pressure to use things that aren't working.
