HELLO IT IS ME FROM THE PAST

I'm uploading this at the same time as the previous demo, at a little coffee shop on the way to Geiranger in Norway. I'm not sure whether it will finish uploading before I have to leave (gotta get up the mountain before it gets dark cause these roads are perilous), but I'm crossing my fingers.

This song is a real test of what kind of headspace I am when I'm playing live, at least when I perform it acoustic. It's the kind of song that shines so much when it's performed with proper dynamic range - alternating between intimacy and intensity, not being afraid to play with extremes - but can feel flat when those dynamics aren't properly leaned into. The more I'm emotionally present during a performance, the more perceptive I am of the flow of those kinds of things, so this is one that I only play if I'm really in it.

I like this performance of it a lot, from the EXUVIUM livestream. I think I was pretty tuned in.
