You know I like to take short breaks from time to time of big projects, when my mind needs to see gratifying results in short time to recover its hope and motivation for the big ones (the ongoing Donkey Kong DX, Mole Mania DX and Ninja Gaiden DX).
Truth is, I started this one last year and cancelled it due to its limitations. But guess who decided to revive it some days ago!
It is a little hack that restores most of the features the japanese version of Tiny Toon Adventures 2: Montana's Movie Madness had:
password function
unlimited continues
earn an extra life after winning a minigame
earn an extra life after reaching 2000 points (instead of 3000)
bosses health points reduced by one
This is a beloved game of my childhood that I never managed to finish due to the lack of passwords and unlimited continues. A decade later of frustration, I learned the japanese version was more fair and balanced.I always felt our version was inferior since then. But it's fixed now, now you can enjoy this cute li'l platformer in english in its best version!
Believe it or not, this has not been an easy task. Due to how ROM memory management works on GB, there was almost no room to reinsert the missing password code.It could have been easy if I just expanded the ROM size, but hey, I like challenges and finally succeeded in fitting the whole code into the original 128kb ROM!
