This week's pretty slow in development. Largely because I want to offset the burnout meter but mostly because the route's pretty ambitious and will turn out to be the largest one so in my mind I'm deliberating and thinking about a bunch of stuff on how best to proceed. Some decision paralysis in place for sure.
New outfit for Shion, (her idol outfit).
By the way, I forgot to hold a poll for it's design like an idiot. There's like two other outfits (if I'm lucky and I can keep myself under control, else we're looking at more) planned this route so I'll do that when the time comes. Anyway, this outfit wasn't supposed to happen and appear next update, but it will now because I've decided to go ahead and introduce it earlier for the event/scene that'll be coming in the next update.
I mean I really don't know who this could be, I'm pretty sure I didn't mention him before like at all in the previous update.
Some Dev talk:
What was supposed to be 2 separate smaller events is now merged into one and meshed together to be one "slightly longer than the usual" event. I took way longer than I needed to for me to decide on that merging because I'm essentially going to sacrifice a share of the slow burn just so that I can accelerate the plot faster. I can already see that it'll create some discourse(disagreement)..maybe. But I think the "slow burn/build up" here has to be different than Masaru's route seeing how much the mid/late route content is going to have with the number of side characters. With Masaru first act, I'm free to take much longer because he's like one guy and is this overly detailed monologuing manipulative character. Not exactly the case here. You won't want a repeat of a Masaru character. I like to think that (I mean I won't want to do that either).
Regarding said event the idea is that if you introduce an idea once and only put it slightly to use the first time (30% of what you can run with the idea because you are trapped by the need to "slow burn") instead of say 70-80%, the idea loses its impact upon the second time it is used and then loses its impact more on its third. I know I'm speaking gibberish here but hopefully you'll look back and see what I mean when you play what I'm talking about.
We'll see how it goes. I'll never really know until its played.
Regarding update date: I can't confirm a date just yet because of how delayed the last one was and I don't want to repeat that whole thing again and increase my heart palpations when I'm failing to meet deadlines, so give me some time to finalize it. I'm changing the release model a little so that it'll be an event or two per update or whatever that's done in that 2-2.5 weeks period instead of forcing myself to be sleep deprived and edge towards burnout by being insistent on releasing it to this envisioned checkpoint in my own mind. This is not good for me long term neither will it be good for the game.
I can't exactly find the words to explain what I'm trying to say so I'll leave it at that.
The date will be announced later, so I ask for your kind patience as always.
Cheers for now.
