[Third Person Pov]
Atom Eve hovered high in the air, her pink energy constructs glowing brightly as she unleashed a barrage of projectiles toward Red Rush. The speedster blurred through the assault with effortless precision, dodging each blast before suddenly accelerating into a counterclockwise sprint beneath her. His rapid circular movement generated a violent vortex, a roaring tornado that whipped up debris and stripped the oxygen from the air around her in seconds.
Eve’s lungs burned as the breathable atmosphere vanished. She gasped desperately, clutching at her throat, her vision blurring with lightheadedness. Her body went limp, and she plummeted from the sky, tumbling helplessly toward the ground. Thankfully, her instinctively formed pink armor absorbed the worst of the impact as she crashed down onto a parked car, crumpling the metal roof and shattering the windows with a deafening crunch. Glass and twisted steel scattered across the pavement.
“Ughhh…” she groaned, dazed and disoriented, her head spinning as she tried to push herself up.
Before she could recover, Red Rush was already upon her in a red streak. He seized her by the collar, yanking her off the wrecked vehicle and dragging her along at blinding speed. With a grunt of effort, he hurled her into the distance like a ragdoll. He followed up instantly, slamming into her at supersonic velocity. The devastating impact shattered her pink armor into countless glowing fragments, sending her flying backward through the air. He looped around from the opposite direction and delivered a brutal punch across her face. Blood sprayed from her mouth as the force sent her ragdolling violently across the rough asphalt, scraping and bouncing until she finally skidded to a painful stop.
Eve spat a mouthful of blood onto the ground and wiped her split lip with the back of her hand, her ginger hair matted with sweat and dirt. “Damn it… How annoying,” she muttered through gritted teeth, eyes narrowed in frustration.
She quickly summoned a series of defensive barriers, shields, and shimmering forcefields in an attempt to slow the hyper-speed hero down. But Red Rush tore through them all with his insane velocity, each construct exploding into harmless pink sparks as he shattered them one after another.
Worse still, her latest energy construct suddenly began to melt and lose cohesion, becoming sluggish and half-formed. The debilitating effect of Sloth’s interference was taking hold, draining the potency from her powers.
“Wha—” she started, barely able to voice her confusion before Red Rush was on her again.
His fists rained down from every angle in a relentless barrage. He blurred around her in tight circles, pummeling her with superhuman speed and precision. Blow after blow landed—body, arms, shoulders—until a devastatingly fast uppercut connected squarely with her chin. The impact launched her upward and backward, sending her crashing hard into a nearby lamppost. The metal pole dented deeply on impact as she slumped to the ground, flat on her back.
Eve whipped her head up, brushing her disheveled ginger hair away from her flushed face with an irritated swipe. “Enough,” she grumbled, her voice laced with growing annoyance. She slapped both hands against the pavement, channeling her energy into the ground. The asphalt rippled and transformed instantly, turning smooth and slick as it shifted into a wide sheet of ice.
“Waaah—!!” Red Rush exclaimed in surprise as his feet lost traction. He slipped wildly and crashed hard onto the frozen surface, momentum carrying him into an uncontrolled slide.
Seizing the moment, Eve conjured pink energy constructs of elegant ice skates over her boots. She pushed off gracefully and began skating across the icy terrain, building speed as she initiated her counterattack. She circled him rapidly, her movements fluid and precise, while wrapping him up tightly in a glowing pink lasso of pure energy. Dragging him behind her, his body smacked and scraped recklessly against the frozen ground with every sharp turn. Then, with a powerful spin, she whipped around and flung him forcefully toward a parked truck, nearly toppling the heavy vehicle over with the collision.
The lasso, however, began to liquefy and dissolve under the persistent interference of Sloth’s power. Just as Red Rush prepared to speed away, Eve reacted swiftly. A massive metal wall erupted from the ground directly in front of him with a heavy metallic groan. He spun around, only to find another wall materializing behind him. More barriers rose in rapid succession until he was fully surrounded and encased within a thick, reinforced steel box—its density far too great for even his incredible speed to break through easily.
“Wow, you look like shit,” came a familiar voice from above.
Eve glanced up to see Marie descending gracefully beside her, landing with a weary but determined expression. “You don’t look all that well yourself,” Eve replied with a tired smirk, noting the heavy, painful-looking injuries covering her ally.
“Oh nice, you actually managed to capture him,” Marie observed, tilting her head as the distinct, repeated Thunk of impacts echoed from inside the metal prison. Fresh dents began bulging outward from Red Rush’s frantic escape attempts.
“I can only hold him for a bit. I don’t know how long it’ll last,” Eve admitted, touching her bruised and bloody lips gingerly while assessing her own injuries.
“That’s Sloth messing with you, right? Watch this,” Marie said with a mischievous grin spreading across her face.
Inside the steel enclosure, Red Rush continued dashing in his severely limited space, slamming repeatedly against the walls in a desperate bid to tear them down, his breathing growing more labored with each collision.
“Woah, Eve! Your powers are seriously impressive!” Marie called out loudly, her voice carrying clearly through the metal. “You managed to make such a large bed in there, and the pillows—my god, they’re so incredibly fluffy! Is that memory foam? It feels like I’m sinking into a cloud!”
Red Rush abruptly came to a halt inside his prison. He pressed his ear tightly against the cold steel wall, listening more closely with growing confusion and hesitation.
“Seriously?” Eve asked, fixing Marie with an unimpressed stare, one eyebrow arched in clear skepticism at the ridiculous strategy.
“Just trust me,” Marie mouthed silently, giving her a quick wink before cupping her hands around her mouth and raising her voice dramatically. “And the heavy blanket? It’s so warm and cozy it’s like I never want to get up! The kind of comfort that makes the whole world fade away…”
Eve shrugged, deciding to lean into the absurdity. She raised her hands and channeled her pink energy, manifesting a real, luxurious queen-size bed right beside the steel enclosure. Plush pillows piled high, thick heavy blankets draped invitingly, and she even went the extra mile—transforming the surrounding space into a warm, cozy movie-set bedroom complete with soft ambient lighting, gentle flickering candles, and plush rugs. The entire setup radiated irresistible comfort and relaxation.
It proved to be a perfect decision.
The spirit of Sloth slowly emerged from Red Rush’s head, his translucent form poking curiously through the thick metal wall. His eyes widened at the sight of the inviting bed, the hazy, half-lidded gaze growing heavier as a massive yawn escaped him.
“Whatever…” he muttered drowsily, his voice thick with exhaustion. “The others could handle it. They don’t necessarily need me… Constantly running is just so… exhausting.”
The embodiment of Sloth levitated lazily toward the luxurious setup, his movements sluggish and unhurried. He picked up the heavy blanket with a contented sigh, slipped underneath its comforting weight, and almost instantly began snoring loudly, deep and constant, completely lost to the world.
Eve and Marie quietly slipped behind the set. Marie wore a proud, victorious grin while Eve maintained a deadpan expression, still struggling to believe such a ridiculously lazy trap had actually worked.
Marie stepped forward and gently pressed the Wizard’s staff against the slumbering figure. “Acedia,” she whispered carefully, not wanting to wake him, before adding with playful flair, “Skadoosh.”
Just like Wrath before him, a powerful bolt of lightning cracked down from above, striking Sloth with brilliant force. His form rapidly hardened into a detailed statue, then became enveloped in a swirling wave of shimmering golden magic particles that sealed him completely.
…
Back at the Rock of Eternity, where a single statue already rested in solemn silence, another soon joined its place at the end of the line. Beneath the pedestal labeled ‘Sloth,’ the statue of a peacefully sleeping entity manifested, head resting comfortably on its hands in eternal repose.
Sloth had finally been granted his deepest wish—an endless, uninterrupted attempt at eternal sleep.
…
“I honestly can’t believe that actually worked,” Eve said with a disappointed grimace, shaking her head in disbelief. “It makes it feel so lame that I was struggling so hard against someone like that.”
Marie chuckled softly beside her, clearly amused. “It seems that not even the Seven Sins are safe from their own vices.”
She then nudged Eve gently with her elbow. “Don’t worry about him. Cecil will take care of Red Rush. Come on, we have to hurry and help the others. It looks like Invincible is struggling to hold his own against our dad.”
“That’s understandable,” Eve replied as she fell into step beside her. “This is Omni-Man we’re talking about.”
The two young women quickly made their way toward the next battlefield, racing against time to support their allies in the chaotic war against the Seven Sins.
…
They arrived just in time to witness the brutal fight between Rex and Aquarius, the latter fully possessed by the spirit of Greed. The scene was far worse than either of them had anticipated.
Rex was in terrible shape. His body was riddled with multiple puncture wounds caused by high-pressurized jets of water. His jacket was soaked through with blood, his mask partially shattered, revealing a face that was bruised and slightly disfigured from the relentless assault. Drenched in both freezing water and his own blood, he trembled violently, teeth chattering from the biting cold that had seeped deep into his bones.
“This is so not cool!” Rex grumbled through gritted teeth, his voice laced with frustration and pain. “I’m supposed to be the one winning here! Seriously, what the fuck is this?! Since when was Fishstick supposed to be this dangerous?!”
Marie crossed her arms, watching the scene with a dry expression. “That’s your boyfriend, by the way,” she said, motioning toward the struggling Rex. “The one you chose to be your significant other.”
Eve let out a small laugh despite the dire situation. “I know. But the heart wants what the heart wants. There’s nothing we can really do about it but accept it,” she replied with a faint, affectionate grin, completely unbothered by Marie’s teasing.
“Mmm…” Marie hummed thoughtfully, a hint of skepticism in her voice as she muttered under her breath, “Maybe…”
Aquarius brought his hands together with a sharp clap, and powerful pressurized beams of water erupted from his palms like high-velocity cannons. The destructive streams sliced through parked cars, splitting metal bodies in half and carving deep, jagged trenches into the asphalt with terrifying ease. Rex barely managed to leap out of the way, rolling across the ground as the lethal jets narrowly missed him. In retaliation, he hurled a cluster of explosive energy disks that streaked toward his opponent. They detonated across Aquarius’ scaly skin in a series of bright, thunderous explosions, sending bursts of smoke and singed flesh into the air.
Undeterred, Aquarius charged forward with a guttural roar, gripping his deadly trident. He leaped high into the air, twirling the polearm skillfully above his head as he prepared to bring it crashing down.
At the last possible second, Marie and Eve swooped in. Eve thrust her hands forward, creating a protective pink force field around Rex just in time. Simultaneously, Marie launched herself at Aquarius with immense force, tackling the possessed fish-man and knocking the wind clean out of him with a solid impact.
“What are you doing? I totally had it handled!” Rex protested from inside the glowing sphere, blood steadily dripping from his many wounds onto the ground below. “I was just about to perform my ultimate move and win this thing!”
“You’re welcome, by the way,” Eve shot back, rolling her eyes as she refocused her attention on the threat of Greed and Aquarius.
“You know, for someone who wants so much, you sure seem to have so very little,” Marie taunted, her voice dripping with mockery. She grabbed Aquarius by the legs and hurled him violently into a nearby brick wall, burying him under a crashing avalanche of rubble and debris.
Marie then turned to Eve and motioned with her hands, rubbing her fingers together in a clear signal. Eve scoffed in amusement but played along, swiftly crafting a thick wad of counterfeit bills with her powers—each one looking remarkably realistic at first glance.
“Say, how about we play a game?” Marie called out loudly as Greed blasted the surrounding rubble away with a ferocious rush of water, emerging with a furious glare.
“I don’t have time to play your juvenile—” Greed began to sneer, staring at Marie with open disdain.
“The winner gets this wad of cash,” Marie interjected smoothly, fanning herself with the tempting stack of bills.
Greed’s entire demeanor shifted in an instant. “So what are we playing? Blackjack? Roulette? Go Fish? Old Maid?” he asked eagerly, eyes locked greedily on the money with zero hesitation the moment he saw it.
“The game is simple,” Marie replied with a sly grin. “Which is faster—your hands or my staff?” She tossed the wad of cash high into the air and aimed her Wizard’s staff directly at the fluttering bills.
“Sha—!!”
“Nooo!!” Greed roared in desperation. The spirit of Greed immediately abandoned Aquarius’s body and shot forward like a bullet, flying desperately toward the airborne cash.
“Ahaha!!” he shouted in triumphant celebration as he reached the money before Marie could. He snatched the wad and brought it eagerly to his nose, inhaling deeply with pure ecstasy. “Mine! It’s all mine—” he cried joyfully, before suddenly pausing. “Wait a minute…”
He pulled one bill free and examined it closely. Instead of a president’s face, the front clearly read in bold letters: ‘Game Over.’
Greed’s eyes widened in horror as he looked over his shoulder. Marie stood right behind him, her magic staff pressed firmly against his back. She grinned wickedly. “Avarita.”
A devastating bolt of lightning crackled down from the sky without mercy, striking the spirit of Greed. “NOOOOO!!” he roared in agony as the fake bills flew from his grasp. His body rapidly hardened into a detailed statue, frozen forever with a look of deep regret etched across his face.
…
Just like the sins before him, Greed now had his own pedestal waiting inside the Rock of Eternity. The name ‘Greed’ was elegantly inscribed on the empty platform situated right in the middle of the others. Specks of magical light danced and swirled around the slot before the petrified statue fully manifested in its new permanent home.
Three out of the Seven Sins were now accounted for.
…
“This is rather embarrassing. I didn’t even do anything! What the heck!” Rex complained from inside the pink force field sphere Eve had created around him as the group flew toward their next target.
“Of course you did,” Marie reassured him warmly. “You kept him preoccupied for a long time. A lot of people were spared from his destructive influence because you managed to hold on until we could all come together and stop him for good.”
“I wish I could reciprocate those feelings you clearly have for me,” Rex replied with a massive grin, leaning casually against the energy bubble, “but I’m in a committed relationship right here. Have some respect, will you?”
“God, you’re so annoying,” Marie sighed, groaning loudly as her eyes rolled to the back of her head. “And not even the good kind of annoying either.”
Thanks to their enhanced speed, they soon arrived at the grim scene of Dupli-Kate battling against Darkwing.
“Ughh… Talk about gross,” Marie couldn’t help but exclaim at the horrifying sight before them.
Multiple corpses of Kate lay scattered across the blood-stained street, each bearing gruesome injuries of varying degrees. Some had their throats brutally sliced open by a sharp blade, others had their faces partially blown off from devastating impacts, and one was even hanging limply from a street lamp, suspended by a grappling hook wrapped tightly around her neck.
“How many more of you do I need to kill before you finally stop!” Darkwing shouted in pure annoyance, his voice echoing across the ruined street as he brutally snapped the neck of yet another Dupli-Kate duplicate with a sharp, sickening crack.
“A whole lot more,” Kate panted heavily, sweat and blood streaking her face. Even as she spoke, more versions of herself materialized from her body, charging forward in a relentless wave toward the possessed hero.
“Hope you don’t mind us dropping in for an intervention!” Marie called out cheerfully as she flew past the exhausted Kate and delivered a powerful tackle that sent Darkwing crashing to the ground.
“Please and thank you,” Kate groaned, collapsing to one knee and sighing in deep relief as the pressure finally eased.
The moment Marie pinned Darkwing down, a clever plan formed in her mind. She began to chuckle darkly, her eyes narrowing with calculated contempt as she stared at the entity controlling him.
The look made Envy’s blood boil with rage. The sin snarled viciously through Darkwing’s mouth. “What the heck is so funny, huh?”
“No, no, it’s nothing…” Marie replied with mock sympathy, shaking her head. “It’s just funny how little the rest of the sins think of you.”
“What is that supposed to mean?!” Envy demanded furiously, her hand instinctively reaching into the utility belt around Darkwing’s waist.
“I mean, it’s obvious,” Marie continued, her tone dripping with superiority. “The rest of the sins managed to possess someone cool—someone with incredible superpowers and unique abilities. But poor little Envy? You got stuck with the one man in the Guardians of the Globe who doesn’t possess a single ounce of real power.” She looked down on her opponent, both literally and figuratively, from her position hovering in the air.
Envy’s face contorted with overwhelming jealousy, the dark power of her sin radiating off her in thick, poisonous waves. As realization sank in, she glared up at the flying Marie with raw envy. She’s strong… and she can fly… the sin thought bitterly. I want that for myself! Why couldn’t I have someone like her?
“I should have it!” Envy screamed, her voice cracking with possessive fury. “Your powers, your body—they should be mine!!” With that, the spirit of Envy abandoned Darkwing’s body and launched herself toward Marie, eyes gleaming with desperate hunger.
“I think not,” Marie scoffed, radiating superiority as she pointed her Wizard’s staff directly forward. The glowing tip pressed firmly against the approaching sin. “Invidia.”
“Fuck! You bitch—!!” Envy shouted in rage.
A blinding bolt of lightning struck down from the heavens without mercy, engulfing the spirit. Envy’s body began turning to stone mid-air, hardening rapidly as she stared at Marie with one final, envious glare—forever frozen with bitter longing for everything she could never possess.
“Skadoosh,” Marie added with a satisfied grin. With a whimsical flick of magic, Envy was completely sealed away.
…
Deep inside the Rock of Eternity, golden specks of magic illuminated the dim chamber as a new statue appeared on the empty pedestal beside Greed. The figure of Envy manifested in her place, noticeably the smallest and most resentful-looking among the sins already present.
…
Their growing group pressed onward in their quest to seal the remaining sins. Eve carried both Kate and Rex on either side of her inside a large, protective bubble of pink energy, while Marie led the charge at the front.
As they flew, Marie’s communicator crackled to life with Robot’s calm, mechanical voice. “I have successfully managed to extract the Sin of Lust from Green Ghost. Your presence here is greatly required.”
“Nice! That saves us plenty of time. We’re on our way now, Robot,” Marie replied, accelerating sharply and surpassing the rest of the group with impressive speed.
“Why don’t you feel anything?!” Lust shouted in deep frustration, his voice echoing with irritation. “Are you impotent or something?!”
“No. I am a Robot,” came the straightforward reply. Robot stood unsteadily on one foot, missing significant parts of his arm and leg, hopping slightly to maintain balance. “I do not experience arousal.”
“Oh man, you’re missing out!” Lust groaned, staring at the android in pure distaste. “You should have built yourself an implant or something! What a terrible way to live—not being able to experience the ecstasy that accompanies an orgasm. I honestly pity you.”
Robot’s eye lenses slowly narrowed, the words secretly affecting him more than he cared to admit.
“And I would say I pity you too,” Robot responded in his flat, artificial tone, “but that would make me a liar.”
“That’s there for you to pity—” Lust sneered, but he suddenly froze as he felt a light tap on his shoulder.
He turned around slowly to find Marie levitating right behind him, waving cheerfully with a bright, confident smile on her face.
“Darn,” Lust grumbled in annoyed resignation.
“Luxuria,” Marie chanted smoothly, pressing the Wizard’s staff firmly against him. The skies above rumbled ominously in response.
A powerful lightning bolt slammed down from above, striking Lust directly. His body began to stiffen and harden into unyielding stone. “Argghhh!!” he groaned in defeat. “This isn’t the type of rock hard I wanted to have!”
His final crude remark left Marie momentarily speechless. She didn’t even bother saying “Skadoosh,” simply watching with a look of utter disgust as the spirit of Lust was officially sealed away.
…
Within the Rock of Eternity, a shimmering glitter of golden magic rained down gently upon the empty pedestal situated between Wrath and Greed. The Sin of Lust slowly manifested as a detailed statue, joining his captured counterparts in the solemn lineup. His frozen face was locked in an expression of perpetual frustration mixed with unquenchable lust, a fitting monument to his defeated vice.
With Lust now sealed away, only two of the remaining sins were left.
…
“Eve, if you may,” Robot requested politely, holding his shattered arm and damaged leg steady with his one remaining functional hand.
Eve nodded and stepped forward, using her versatile pink energy constructs to carefully reconstruct and reinforce Robot’s broken components. Within moments, the damaged parts were rebuilt stronger than before.
“How did you even manage to get Lust to exit from her body?” Marie asked curiously, leaning in to examine the unconscious form of Green Ghost more closely for any lingering signs of possession.
“I made him sexually frustrated and directly challenged his manhood,” Robot explained in his usual casual, matter-of-fact tone while making final adjustments to his newly repaired limbs. A small screwdriver extended from his finger as he bolted the components securely into place. “I’ve seen it work quite effectively with Rex, so I figured the same provocation would draw him out.”
“Hey!!” Rex exclaimed, sounding deeply offended. “What’s that supposed to mean?!”
The rest of the group completely ignored his protest. Marie simply nodded in approval. “Understood. Great work out there—you’re quite the efficient piece of machinery.”
“Don’t ignore me!!” Rex shouted louder in protest, waving his arms dramatically.
“Thank you,” Robot replied with a small, polite dip of his head. “It is what I strive to become.”
“I’m a bit tired from using my powers so extensively,” Eve admitted, the prolonged battle with Red Rush still weighing heavily on her body and mind.
The Teen Team hitched a ride aboard Robot’s sturdy hover vehicle, while Marie flew gracefully alongside them, keeping pace with ease.
“Invincible, how are you holding up?” Marie asked through the communicator, her voice filled with genuine concern for her big brother’s well-being.
The only response that came back was the distressing sound of Mark choking on his own blood, followed by weak, pained whimpers.
“Mmhmm… That’s perfect,” Marie responded with a confident nod, as if she had received a perfectly normal update. “Just hold on for a bit longer, alright, big bro?”
“He’s A-Okay,” Marie announced cheerfully to the group, flashing a thumbs-up.
“He sounded the farthest thing from okay,” Kate said skeptically, tapping her own earpiece. “He sounds like he’s dying.”
“It seems you don’t understand Gargle,” Marie replied, shaking her head and looking at Kate like she was a complete novice in the art of Mark Grayson translations. “‘GaaArgaGhh’ means ‘I got it handled, don’t worry about me.’ And the whimper at the end? That clearly translates to ‘But I don’t know how long I can hold on for, so please hurry.’”
The rest of the Teen Team simply stared at her in complete silence, utterly at a loss for words.
When they finally arrived at the scene, they found The Immortal locked in a brutal, bloody showdown with the Martian Man. Their outfits were coated in each other’s blood—vibrant red mixing with deep purple—as the two powerful beings clashed violently.
“I won’t tell you again!” The Immortal roared with righteous fury. “My comrades aren’t your body suits to inhabit!!” He charged forward with explosive force, only for the Martian Man to suddenly elongate his malleable body, wrapping himself tightly around The Immortal in a desperate, constricting struggle.
“I have a plan,” Marie declared, turning confidently toward the Teen Team. “The way to fight against the Sins is to turn their own temptations against them. And for this one, I’m going to need your help, Eve…”
After Marie and Eve finished carefully setting up their elaborate trap, Marie began to levitate upward. “Robot, Rex—you’re with me.”
Marie flew in swiftly and grabbed the Martian Man by the head, yanking him forcefully away from The Immortal with a powerful tug.
“Follow my lead!” she called out to The Immortal as she, Robot, and Rex formed up in front of the possessed hero.
The Immortal gave a firm nod of agreement, and the four of them immediately began battling the Martian Man as a coordinated unit, working together seamlessly.
The Martian Man responded by elongating one of his arms into a long, whip-like tendril, slapping all of them away in a wide, sweeping arc. Marie and The Immortal recovered the fastest and were already pressing the attack once more.
Robot unleashed precise green laser shots from his weapons systems, while Rex hurled charged explosive projectiles that detonated violently around their target, keeping the Martian Man pinned down under constant pressure.
As he struggled to hold off the coordinated assault, a warm, delicious aroma suddenly wafted into his nostrils. The enticing smell was so powerful that it made his mouth water instantly and his stomach rumble with overwhelming hunger.
He glanced over toward the source and spotted a wide banquet table laden with an incredible assortment of food—juicy meats, perfectly grilled vegetables, rich pastas, and a decadent spread of desserts. Eve and Kate stood beside the table, deliberately fanning the mouthwatering scents directly toward him.
“Don’t let him get to it!” Marie warned The Immortal before charging back into the fray.
“What?” The Martian Man exclaimed in disbelief, his expression quickly twisting into pure anger. “No one can deny me a meal! Do you know who I am?!”
He tried to stretch his legs over the entire group in a desperate lunge for the food, but Marie flew in front of him and delivered a strong kick that knocked him back down to the ground.
“Are you serious right now?” The Immortal asked in genuine surprise. “Is this what we’re doing?”
“Yes!” Marie replied firmly. “He’s the Sin of Gluttony—he can’t help but give in to temptation and indulge himself. Just keep following my lead!”
The Martian Man’s fist suddenly enlarged to massive proportions and slammed Marie hard into the ground. Her body bounced off the pavement from the impact, and a spray of blood shot from her nose.
Before Gluttony could press his advantage, however, The Immortal stepped in to block him. “I don’t really understand what’s happening, but I’ll trust you this one time!”
“Get out of my way!!” The Martian Man roared with growing impatience, the delicious smell actively tormenting his insatiable hunger.
“Restrain him!” Marie commanded confidently.
She and The Immortal flew forward together, each grabbing one of the Martian Man’s massive fists. They pulled in opposite directions, stretching his malleable body to its absolute limit. Marie began flying in a tight clockwise rotation while The Immortal mirrored her movements in a counterclockwise spin. Together, they expertly tangled up his elongated limbs around his own body.
“No one keeps food from Gluttony!!” he roared defiantly, his stomach audibly grumbling with ferocious hunger.
“Rex, his legs!” Robot instructed, aiming his energy blaster squarely at the Martian Man’s head.
Rex withdrew two glowing batons from his side, twirling them skillfully between his fingers. They charged with explosive energy before he flung them at the ground around the Martian Man’s feet. The impact destabilized the pavement, burying his legs deep beneath shifting rubble and debris.
When Gluttony looked back toward the irresistible banquet, the worst possible temptation unfolded right before his eyes.
Eve leaned sensually over the edge of the table, holding a generous slice of pie near her mouth. “Mmhmm, so good~” she moaned seductively as she devoured the entire slice, then slowly sucked on each of her fingers with exaggerated pleasure.
Tears prickled at the corners of the Martian Man’s eyes. Gluttony let out a tormented roar. “Gluttony doesn’t like to share his food!!”
Suddenly, his body began to shift and contort grotesquely. His neck expanded, his jaw unhinged dramatically, and Gluttony’s head finally crowned from deep inside the Martian Man’s mouth. The sin violently exited his host and flew straight toward the banquet table like a starving beast.
“First of all… gross,” Rex muttered, looking on in disgust before glancing back at the now-defiled Martian Man.
“Yes, but strangely appropriate given the nature of the sin he represents,” Robot replied analytically as they all watched the spectacle unfold.
Eve and Kate quickly backed away from the table as Gluttony crashed down on top of it, shattering the sturdy structure in half. All the food piled messily toward the center of the wreckage.
“Uhm! Guhm! Uragh!!” Gluttony breathed heavily, stuffing his face with wild abandon. He grabbed everything with his bare hands and shoved it down his throat like a ravenous pig, barely pausing to chew.
Marie held out her hand, and Eve tossed the Wizard’s staff back to her in a smooth arc. She pressed the staff firmly against Gluttony’s back and smirked.
He glanced over his shoulder, then fully turned around once he saw what she was holding.
“Oh no…” Gluttony said in a muffled voice, desperately covering his overstuffed mouth with both hands to keep all the food from spilling out.
“Gula!” Marie shouted triumphantly, her eyes glinting with amusement and victory.
A powerful bolt of lightning crashed down from above, striking Gluttony and reducing him to a motionless stone statue.
“Skadoosh~” she declared proudly as the sealed spirit was transported away to the Rock of Eternity.
…
The Rock of Eternity remained eerily quiet as the five statues stood motionless in their pedestals, sealed away to prevent them from ever spreading their vindictiveness again.
Magic rained down gently on the final empty pedestal positioned between Envy and Sloth—the one clearly labeled ‘Gluttony.’ The statue of Gluttony appeared in perfect stillness, hands still covering his mouth, marking the sixth sin to join the rest.
Now, only one sin remained to be captured and sealed away.
The leader of the Seven Deadly Sins.
The Sin of Pride.
