I hope you’re ready for something a bit new for today’s release, Angel. And by that, I mean quite literally with a brand new 3DIO microphone debuting for the very first time ever on this Patreon! Well, the very first time on any of my platforms really. I have yet to streamed with it, at this current moment of publishing this. This Ramble was recorded moments just after I took the microphone out of the box and plugged it in. I didn’t really tinker with the settings and didn’t really think, I just went.
Skimming through my recording, I can see I still have a lot to learn with this new mic but I had quite a lovely first time with it… Since I promised you the very first thing I would ever record with this new 3DIO would be a Ramblefap, here am I to deliver it. Please enjoy and pace yourself. I think you’ll notice quite early on that I was dragging out my first time, so things might be quite slow to build up compared to my other rambles.
Like the title suggests, I added a mini “Ear training” segment in here just so I could play around with the mic since it was my first interaction with it. Because of that there is a slight blend of me trying to focus on doing that and then me letting go/getting into the ramble. Honestly, I had a bunch of fun with all the edging for this and I will admit I was also a bit hyperfocused on how myself/everything may sound on this new microphone. As I mentioned before, I skimmed a bit through the playback to do a slight sound check- And from it, I do think this microphone has a quieter audio floor compared to my previous 3DIO. Because of this, I think there is a slight dampening effect and quieter sound in certain aspects of it. I think for my next recording and especially for my next ramble, I might have to tweak some settings in order to have my-um…strokes…pick up better. While I naturally move around a bit and also shift the mic to different areas during my rambles, there are definitely moments in this recording where you hear a significant difference in my stroking sounds volume despite my being pretty close…And loud. Trust me when I say, it sounds really wet and loud even to the naked ear when I record these.
Anyways, yeah, there's definitely going to be a learning curb, which doesn’t surprise me since that’s normal when getting new equipment. I’m just super sorry if this ramble doesn’t hit as hard because of all of that. My nervousness to try out the new mic/being hyperfocused on it and the overall really really long edging I decided to torture you with I know might be a bit much. That last point, being a delicious torture for myself but I know sometimes it can be a bit frustrating depending on moods. But yeah! I’m unsure what your reaction will be to this very messy first time but I hope you can at least still take away a few aspects of enjoyment from it. I promise as time goes on I will be able to play around with the 3DIO more and fine tune it to my preferences. Right now, we’re just in its experimental period with it haha.
However, who knows...Perhaps this sound upgrade is quite minimal sounding to you? And maybe you don’t notice too much of a change in the audio? Which is totally valid. I might be placeboing myself into thinking there is a much larger jump in sound then there actually is haha. Though I swear, the middle portion of the binaural effect does seem to be a bit stronger? I feel like I’m losing less sound when I talk at the middle neck portion of it, which does make me happy. Again, it may be all delulu…But let this guy dream a little if so…
Anyways, sorry for all the technical yap. As you can see, I’m just really excited for my new toy and have lots of thoughts about all the technical parts of it! Thank you so much again for helping me fund and purchase this new 3DIO…I feel so fucking grateful and spoiled to even have a mic like this in my hands. I promise I’ll do my best to repay your kindness by giving you fun audios and streams to listen to. I’m so fucking lucky…And I truly mean it when I say, I’m always so humble and grateful for all the love and support you show me…It means a lot to me, Angel. Thank you for helping me do what I do and also for sticking around to watch/listen to whatever projects I put out! I’m the luckiest guy on earth because of you.
Saying that though…I guess I should apologize to you for what’s transpired during this Ramblefap…I won’t lie, I was a bit of a bully and I hope you can still enjoy my company after all the teasing I put you through. Like I said before, I just wanted to stretch out our first time together with this new 3DIO…So the edging is just sweet, delicious torment as a result. Let me know if you were able to hold out with me or if I made you crumble and go again. I would love to know.
