Happy Birthday, Vale (and me 😂)

Happy birthday to my birthday twin, and possibly the most despised MC I’ve written yet. Vale Riviera (formerly DuPont, IYKYK).

If there’s one thing you need to know about this guy, it’s that he’s a character you really have to read between the lines with to understand. Blink and you miss it.

This character… he’s someone who contradicts himself at almost every turn when it comes to matters of his stone-cold heart, but when he finally surrenders… oof.

Whether or not he redeems himself I suppose remains to be seen. And whether or not his reasons for the way he is, the way he treats Aston, are valid and justified… not up to me to decide.

I’m just here to do what I love and do what I do best— write the incident reports and take you for a (hopefully) unforgettable ride with the voices in my head.

So, thank you for being here, thanks for giving my work a chance in the first place, thanks for all the love you show my stories and characters, and for being loyal, patient, and the best readers an author could ask for.

I’m living my dream, and it’s all thanks to you.

So, here’s to Chapter 33! And here’s to vale, another character for me to hide behind when I’m feeling vulnerable and don’t want to be perceived, on days like today. If you get it, you get it.
