Big app update - April 2026

Hey folks!

Thank you all for continuing to support Pinball Map. If you didn't notice, 1.5 weeks ago we released a really big app update. In terms of Github issues, it closed 18 of the 25 issues we had open. Some of them had been open for many many years. This app update was the culmination of years of planning and setting things up in the backend. But we'll summarize it here, too!

The biggest changes were:

Removing the "zoom limits" so now you can zoom out to the entire world and load every single location on the map.

Pagination in various places. Previously we were just pulling in the last 200 "activity" items. But now you can paginate through over 8,000 pages of map edits.

A bunch more location/machine filters. Now you can select multiple machines, filter by manufacturer, by year, by EM, by whether Insider Connected is enabled, etc.

And more!

And here's a sneak peak: this week we'll be releasing another update. This one will include:

View, upload, and delete location photos (this will close a Github issue that we've had open since 2018)

Added a new Filter Recently Activity option: Saved Locations. It limits activity to only your saved/favorited locations

Let users select a "flag" icon (via profile screen). Show that flag icon next to user names. It's for fun.

Added email and phone buttons that copy operator contact information so you can directly contact operators that opt in to this feature.

Updated FAQ, including adding a table of content to jump to sections and better new operator instructions.

It also includes various little things and optimizations. It's another good update!
