What, can it really be!? A new part of Contagious Augmentation?
I know it probably seemed to you like I had completely forgotten about the series, but I didn’t ^^I just had a massive writer’s block with the story. I didn’t want to just retell the same story from Part 1 again; I wanted to bring more variety into it – and I think I’ve finally managed to do that.
But in the end, you’ll be the ones to judge when the comic comes out in the middle of next week!
Busting Boundaries - Part 3
With Busting Boundaries Part 3, my first two longer comic series (Busting Boundaries and Udderly Unbelievable) have now come to an end. Since this feels like a significant milestone for me, I took the opportunity to reflect a bit (What did I do well? What didn’t go as well? What can I improve in the future?) and have made a few changes to my processes.
A major change is definitely in the writing process. From now on, I’m going to approach it completely differently and give it a lot more attention, which will hopefully lead to more interesting stories and better dialogue.
I also want to invest more time in post-editing the images and illustrating the pages. A new technique that I’ve been trying to perfect was already showcased in the SDXL remake of Udderly Unbelievable and in Busting Boundaries Part 3: characters going beyond the panel borders (see Busting Boundaries - Part 3, Page 10). I’m definitely going to play around with that in Part 3 of Contagious Augmentation as well. I’m not completely satisfied with it yet, but once I get a bit more practice, I think I’ll be able to achieve even more interesting effects.
In addition, I have a few other techniques in mind that I definitely want to try out over the next few weeks to months. Some of it I might discard, and some will stick around for good. Of course, that will depend mostly on how much you all end up liking it.
Now, I know this post was more of a meta-update than actually saying much about Busting Boundaries Part 3, but hopefully, there were still some interesting tidbits for you.
We’ll talk again next week!Until then, take care of yourselves!
