I know some of you have been asking about the download speed and how to make sure you’re getting the best experience possible with our videos. Let’s dive into it and set you up for success!
First off, let’s be real: Downloads can take a bit of time depending on your internet speed, especially since we’re packing some seriously high-quality, volumetric footage into these experiences. But hey, good things come to those who wait, right? So before you hit that download button, double-check your storage space because this stuff eats up space like a college kid at an all-you-can-eat buffet! 💜
To give you an idea: 1 minute of video will take up about 1GB of storage, and with our current content clocking in at 30+ minutes, you’re gonna want to make sure you’ve got enough room to hold it all. So clear out those old files, delete those games you never play anymore, and make some space for the good stuff!
Now, when you’re ready to download, here's a little tip for ya: Click on all the scenes you want to download and leave your headset doing the heavy lifting. If you’re not planning on wearing it while it’s downloading, make sure your headset doesn’t go into standby mode (which would pause the download). The trick? Just pop a shirt into your headset to prevent it from going into standby. Yeah, it’s that simple. No need to babysit the process, let it do its thing while you kick back. 👕
Advanced users, listen up! If you’re on a Quest and you want to squeeze every last pixel of resolution out of these videos, try using the games optimizer for Quest. It’s a bit of a tweak, but trust me, it’ll give you a sharper, more immersive experience—like wiping smudges off your glasses and finally seeing the world in 4K. 🔧
