The thing is, because I was raised all Catholic and stuff (it didn't stick), the various biblical allegories do pop up in my head occasionally. Can I fit 30 pieces of silver into this betrayal? Could Talla's people have a similar mythology to this event or that event? Sodom and Gomorrah are always good when you're blowing up a whole city and oral sex is involved somehow.
But the one that came to my mind for "The Companion" was Adam and Eve, since the computer was making a helpmeet (i.e. companion) for the lonely guy so he could do his job better. But then I would have had to put a snake in there somehow, and unless you're counting the ship's porn database as a subtle reptile, I couldn't see making it work.
Didn't really imagine Celia as a blowjob messianic figure, but hey man, there's always another story.
