Yo
Figured I'd update you guys on what you can expect for the next little bit, as the next couple of videos are either actively being worked on or are close to being finished. But I also wanna give a little bit of an update on my current goals with the channel and what you can expect going forward, as there is a lot of new stuff I want to experiment with.
PATREON/CHANNEL MEMBERSHIP STUFF
So to start, obviously, the Cinema Snob video will have its full release this next month. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and joined as a member recently in order to watch that one early. I know times are tough these days, so one big change I wanted to implement going forward is giving much more value to both my Patreon and Channel Members for your continued support. That starts with giving you certain videos way earlier than normal. There will still be some that you get a day or two early, but from here on out, the Channel Awesome Retrospective parts will all be extra early access. This will be in addition to some bonus videos I'll be making. These will be shorter, more off-the-cuff type stuff, usually in connection to a larger video. But there may be a few with no grander connection. Finally, as I noted in my 2005 YouTube video, I'll be releasing uncensored videos on here more often, which in some cases may be minor differences but in other cases may be whole sections that, for one reason or another, couldn't work on YouTube without trouble.
TL/DR:
Patrons and Channel Members will be getting
ALL Channel Awesome Retrospective parts extra early
Smaller bonus videos
Uncensored videos
UPCOMING CONTENT
Bearing all that in mind, there are a few videos that'll be coming out over the next couple of months.
"A Movie Making Nerd" (James Rolfe book) Review"
"2 Complete Retrospectives on 2 JRPG's" (Still keeping these a surprise till they drop)
"Team TGWTG Lightening Round Parts 1 & 2" (Phelous will be included)
"The Documentary Iceberg VOL.2"
"A Brief Look at Fanart-Central"
"The Complete Don Bluth Retrospective"
"The Indie Horror Game Iceberg Part 1"
That's the stuff. Now, if you want a little more detail, then let's get into it as well as some future channel stuff.
So, to start the Movie Making Nerd video, it will be out in the next couple of days. It's a brief (actually lol) look at the novel and just generally my thoughts on it since I know many have asked about it.
CHANNEL CHANGES
Next are those 2 JRPG game retrospectives. These are very experimental videos and quite ambitious for my channel. Think the level of detail I've given my documentaries on Internet folk and apply that to two games with larger stories, themes, mechanics, etc. Many of you might have noticed over the years that I've experimented with video game analysis and put a lot of time into those projects, and while I'd say it's fair, they have a bit of a different audience than my typical affair. There is gonna be a lot more of them coming up, in addition to more media and art-based retrospectives. This is partly because I'm passionate about storytelling and what have you, but also because while I don't plan on stopping talking about weird or interesting Internet-related stuff, and I have several big documentaries planned still, I'll be honest with you, I want to expand beyond them. Or at least beyond the "lolcow" documentaries, I should clarify.
This choice is made partly out of me simply running out of ones I want to cover, but also because of the amount of time and work I put into them to be as fair as possible and tell these people's stories in a way that either paints a clear picture or maybe shifts perspective on them a bit... It's a bit disheartening to see my video sat beside videos made with AI voices, AI scripts that get information wrong, and paint people in a really dehumanizing light. Those videos can be pumped out near daily due to this, and more and more people watch them, and while I don't really have a beef with any of these people, I guess I sort of realized that I came to an impasse. I never considered myself a drama or commentary channel, but I noticed I am often placed in that box, and while I don't mind that, lately it's been feeling like a bit of a box slowly closing in on me. Like I said I still have several Internet people documentaries planned, hell the Channel Awesome Retrospective alone still has many parts, and there is an entire other rabbit hole of Internet creators I plan on making a documentary series about here soon that I cannot wait to share with you all, as well as a really classic, strange user I have planned for this July, (that is a slight hint lol) but the documentaries on just kind of just bad people or more extrmeme lol or horror cows may be done less often is favor of finishing sereis I've started and more niche or specific stuff that I find cool or weird. Again, I hope you all understand my mindset a bit with that.
Beyond that, though, I'll go into more detail about all the other stuff closer to the time of their releases, but I will note I know quite a few of you have been wanting me to do an Indie Horror game or horror game based on an iceberg for a while, so I hope you're all excited for that, as I am.
Oh, and also from here on, I'm gonna try and get at least one TGWTG Retrospective part out each month.
Anyway, that's all for now, lemme know your thoughts on all this. I know that's a lot of info, but with so many of you joining recently, I figured I might as well give ya lore dump.
