Por(n)tals [0.3] - Devlog #2

Hello there! 👋

Ahhh March. I don't know how it is in your place, but where I am, it's finally getting warm. Spring is just around the corner, and I love it. Give it to me already... But you're not here to hear about the weather - let's move on to the game.

Frankly speaking, last month wasn't as good as January, but it doesn't mean it was bad. I made fewer renders while trying to focus more on script. I wrote the biggest scene yet, which has about 45k charaters (the second biggest has around 25k), and more than the half of the story is already done.

I also added two features that will be useful until the very end of the game.

The first one is a very simple phone chat - at certain points in the story, you'll be texting with other characters. You can't use it whenever you want, but still it's much better than static iOS screnshots.

The second one is a gallery where you can watch unlocked lewd scenes. It can be accessed from girls' menu in the bottom right. I still need to test it more, though, because I made some changes to the mc variable, and I'm not sure how will it work with old saves. Hopefully, there won't be any problems.

Current progress

Script

Main story - about 65% complete. I got stuck for a bit, but a few days ago I managed to move on.

Side stories - there will be 3 new side stories (Chad, Kate, Riley). One is written, and the second is in progress.

Renders - as I said, there could be done more, and I plan to focus more on this part in March. At the moment, there are about 800 renders.

Code - slowly getting bigger, with about 2800 lines so far.

By the time of the next devlog, I'd like to complete at least 80% of the story and make about 1,500 renders. Dunno if it's possible because there are some animations to create along the way, but I'll try.
