About standing up from key, how offen?

You know there are times where you are downed and you have to press the up key to standup or wait the player to standup automatically after a while?I was thinking, because we're going to animate a through for a plant attack and i was wandering if to finish the player reaction with player at dog pose so that standsup alone and soon...what do you think about it?
