<< AHSOKA teams up with VENTRESS >>

Sweat beaded on Ahsoka’s forehead, and she looked utterly exhausted. The entire day had been one long sequence of repair jobs and customers trying to cheat her.

She had fixed four machines and helped Trace dismantle an old freighter whose owner clearly thought “Ashla” was too naïve to notice the stolen parts he was trying to pass off.

Ashla.

The name still felt strange…

Ahsoka let herself collapse onto the narrow cot in the tiny room behind the workshop and kicked off her tight shoes. The mattress was thin, the fabric rough, but it was her bed. Her home—at least for now. The Martez sisters had never asked about her past, and she had never asked why two young women were surviving alone on Level 1313. That was their unspoken agreement.

Trace poked her head through the doorframe, an oil smudge on her cheek.

“Hey Ashla… you okay? You look completely wiped out.”

Ahsoka managed a tired grin. “Just a busy day. That blue speeder had a totally fried converter. I thought it was going to explode right under my hands.”

Trace nodded. “Rafa says you’re the best we’ve ever had. Even if she’d never say it out loud.” She hesitated for a moment. “Sleep well. Tomorrow won’t be any easier.”

“Night, Trace.”

The door clicked shut. Ahsoka stared up at the rusty metal ceiling.

Just another normal day. Repairing things. Smiling. Staying invisible. Not using the Force when anyone might see. Not thinking about Anakin. Not thinking about the Temple. Not thinking about Barriss.

She was so tired of it. So endlessly tired of always hiding.

Her eyes drifted shut. Sleep came quickly—deep, heavy, almost like passing out.

She didn’t know how much time had passed when Rafa suddenly knocked on the doorframe.

“Ashla. You’ve got a visitor.”

Ahsoka sat up sharply, her heart leaping into her throat. “A visitor? Now? What time is it?” Her voice sounded thick.

Rafa shrugged, her face wary. “Says she needs an urgent repair on her ship. Looks like she’s been in a fight. I don’t know if we can trust her, but she’s got a lot of credits.”

Ahsoka ran a hand over her face. She was still wearing her oil-stained work clothes—the white cropped tunic and the loose red pants that now felt like a second skin. Barefoot, she padded into the workshop.

And there she stood…

Asajj Ventress! She leaned casually against one of the workbenches, arms crossed. No helmet. Her short white-silver hair fell across her forehead, her pale skin gleaming under the harsh glow of the work lights. She wore her typical bounty hunter gear—the tight dark armor with shoulder pads, belts bristling with gadgets, boots dusty and scarred. One of her lightsabers was visible at her hip, half-hidden under a cloth. She looked like she had come straight from a battle.

Ahsoka froze where she stood. Her stomach tightened.

How the hell did she find me?

Ventress smiled thinly, almost friendly—which with her was always more dangerous than an open threat.

“Ashla, right?” Her voice was quiet but sharp as a blade. “Nice little setup you’ve got here. The sisters said you’re a good mechanic… and I just happen to need one.”

Ahsoka swallowed hard. She stepped closer to the battered ship Ventress had parked outside on the landing pad—its hull scarred by laser burns, one stabilizer hanging half torn away. It wasn’t a lie. The ship had clearly taken damage.

Ahsoka tried not to let her nervousness show. “What… what exactly do you need?” she asked, pretending to examine the damaged section. Her hands trembled slightly as she ran them over the scorched metal.

Had she come to turn her over to the authorities after all? The bounty on her head seemed to grow almost weekly.

Ventress took another step closer. Her presence filled the entire workshop.

“I do need a repair,” she said, then added more quietly, “but that’s not why I’m really here, Tano.”

Ahsoka froze. Ventress continued, her voice now cold and businesslike. “You still owe me, remember? I helped you back then when no one else would. And you never helped me with the Senate… well… you couldn’t, I suppose. But anyway. Now I need your… special abilities.” She smiled thinly. “On a slave market in the Outer Rim, the last survivors of my species are being sold like livestock. Dathomirians. My sisters. I’m getting them out. And you’re coming with me.”

Ahsoka turned slowly to face her. Her blue eyes were wide.

Ventress took one more step, uncomfortably close, and whispered.

“You can refuse, of course. Then I’ll tell your new little sisters exactly who you really are. The former Padawan. The Jedi who fought so bravely and heroically in that bloody war that claimed so many lives…”

She tilted her head, her smile turning dangerously sweet.

“So, Ashla… what do you say?”

Ahsoka stared at Ventress for a long moment, her hands still resting on the scorched metal plates. Then she breathed out slowly and shook her head.

“You don’t have to threaten me, Ventress.” Her voice was calm, almost tired. “It’s… like this: I don’t have lightsabers anymore. I gave them back to Anakin before I left. I don’t even have a blaster—I’m just trying to live… normally here.” She looked the former assassin straight in her cold eyes. Ventress met her gaze. “I know. I’ve been watching you for a while. But I know what you’re capable of. And I need you as backup.”

Ahsoka shook her head again. “But that’s what I was about to say: if it’s about the slave trade, then of course I’ll help. I know how it feels. I was in chains on Zygerria myself. I saw all that suffering. It was horrible. So you don’t need to threaten me… no blackmail. Not for this.”

Ventress blinked in surprise.

For the first time in a long while, she looked genuinely perplexed. Her sharp features softened for a brief moment. She hadn’t expected… immediate agreement.

Ahsoka turned away without another word and got to work. She fetched her tools, climbed—still barefoot—onto the ship’s wing, and began repairing the damaged wiring. Her movements were practiced, but she remained tense. She didn’t know whether Ventress was lying or telling the truth.

Ventress simply stood there. She didn’t help. She said nothing. She just leaned against a support strut and watched Ahsoka with that piercing, appraising gaze—as if she were trying to look inside her head and find the catch.

Shortly afterward Trace came by, carrying a heavy toolbox. She shot Asajj a suspicious sideways glance and whispered to Ahsoka as she passed:

“Hey Ashla… everything okay? The customer is kind of… creepy.”

Ahsoka gave a weak smile and waved it off.

“Everything’s fine. The lady’s just a bit upset. Political reasons.”

Trace raised an eyebrow. “Oh, right… who doesn’t have that these days. Well, never mind.” She set down the box of spare parts, then walked over to Ventress and offered her a glass of water with professional politeness. “Service of the house.”

Ventress looked at the glass as if it were poisoned. She didn’t touch it. Trace simply shrugged and disappeared again into the back of the workshop.

The next few hours passed in an almost eerie silence. Only the hiss of the welding torch and the clink of metal could be heard. Ventress watched every movement Ahsoka made, every subtle change in her expression.

When Ahsoka finally finished, she wiped her oily hands on her red pants. The ship looked halfway spaceworthy again.

Ventress paid Rafa at the front desk with a generous stack of credits. Meanwhile, Ahsoka quietly explained to the sisters:

“The customer talked me into helping with another job. I’ll probably be gone for a few days.”

Rafa studied her for a moment but asked no questions. Trace simply nodded.

“Take care of yourself, Ashla.”

Ahsoka was grateful they didn’t press her.

A short while later they were sitting in the cockpit of the small but agile bounty hunter ship. Ventress dropped into the pilot’s seat, strapped herself in, and started the engines. Ahsoka took the copilot’s seat beside her.

The ship lifted gently from the platform and rose through the endless layers of Coruscant.

Ventress stared at the instruments for a while before she murmured quietly, almost in disbelief:

“I didn’t think you’d just say yes like that.”

Ahsoka leaned back, arms crossed, and gazed out the window at the passing lights of the upper levels.

“I didn’t think you’d ever ask me for help.”

Ventress’s mouth twitched upward at one corner—that was as close as she ever came to a smile.

“Well… times change.”

The ship broke through the uppermost atmospheric layer and entered orbit. Before them stretched the black, star-filled expanse of space.

The ship finally jumped into hyperspace. The soft hum of the engines was the only sound filling the silence between them.

Ahsoka sat with her legs drawn up in the copilot’s seat, watching the swirling blue patterns of hyperspace. After nearly an hour she finally stretched her legs out, rested her feet on the console, and broke the silence.

“Why are you suddenly interested in other people, Ventress? That doesn’t sound like you.”

Ventress snorted softly, cast a brief, irritated glance at Ahsoka’s feet, then looked back at the instruments.

“I’m not interested in ‘other people.’ I’m interested in my sisters, in the survival of my damned species. That’s a difference.” She paused briefly. “And the galaxy isn’t just black and white, Tano. You of all people should know that best.”

Ahsoka nodded slowly. She could sense that Ventress was still keeping something from her, but she didn’t press further.

The next two days passed in a strange, tense calm. Ventress spoke very little. She ate little, slept even less, and often stared for hours at the navigation console. Ahsoka could feel it clearly through the Force: a deep, turbulent darkness, seething anger, grief, and something she had never sensed in Ventress before—concern… for others? The raw, biting hatred from before was gone. In its place was something more complicated. Something more human.

Ahsoka didn’t want to force a conversation. She withdrew, settled into the small cargo hold, and meditated. She let the Force flow through her, practiced her breathing, and tried to find inner peace. She only succeeded moderately.

While she sat on the floor with her eyes closed, Ventress stepped into the room. Without a word, she unclipped one of her two yellow lightsabers from her belt and held it out to her.

“Here.”

Ahsoka opened her eyes and looked at the weapon in surprise.

“I have two. You have none. Consider it compensation.”

When Ahsoka looked at her hesitantly, Ventress added, “It’s probably foolish of me to trust you this much… but right now you’re one of the few people I count among my… better acquaintances.” Ventress’s voice sounded almost embarrassed. “Take it. You can give it back to me later.”

Ahsoka smiled gently and shook her head.

“Thank you. But I don’t need it right now. I wanted to focus on other Force abilities and practice them anyway.”

Ventress raised an eyebrow, lowered the lightsaber again, and leaned against the wall, studying Ahsoka curiously.

“I’ve heard about your… unusual power. It’s impressive how long you managed to keep something like that hidden. But rumors spread. And I was able to find some proof. Even a few shaky videos from some of your… victims… the ones you… crushed.” A mocking smile played across her lips. “Very impressive. And not Jedi-style at all.”

Ahsoka took a deep breath.

“Force growth… It’s an ancient technique. A forgotten ability of an old Togruta Master from my culture. I… was able to master it.”

Ventress’s eyes flashed with interest. She sat down on a crate opposite Ahsoka.

“And what does it feel like?” she asked softly, almost hungrily. “To be that enormous? To crush entire armies beneath your feet?” Her voice grew more intense. “Come on, Tano. Be honest. You felt the dark side, didn’t you? It can’t be any other way! That raw power. Those unrestrained emotions. That absolute superiority.”

Ahsoka remained silent for a long moment. She truly thought about it, then admitted, “Yes… I felt it. A little…”

Ventress stared at her—then laughed. A genuine, short, rough laugh that rarely escaped her.

“Ha. Honesty. From a former Jedi. You really are different.”

After that, silence fell. But it was a different silence than before. Ahsoka could clearly sense Ventress becoming more relaxed around her. She just didn’t know yet what to make of it.

Ventress remained seated on the crate a moment longer, the lightsaber resting loosely in her hand. She turned it slowly between her fingers, as if considering whether she should really put it away again.

“I offered it to you because, honestly, I don’t have a proper plan,” she finally admitted. “This could get pretty rough. I only know I have to do it. What happens after…” She shrugged. “Planning was never my greatest strength.”

Ahsoka smiled faintly and leaned against the wall.

“Anakin never really had a plan either. But somehow it usually worked out.”

Ventress’s expression darkened instantly. She became serious, almost harsh.

“Pah. Anakin.” She practically spat the name. “That Jedi carries far more darkness in him than you might suspect, Tano.”

Ahsoka looked away. A sharp pang shot through her chest. She didn’t want to hear this now—not about Anakin. “Let’s talk about something else,” she said quickly. “For example, what information you have.”

Ventress didn’t press the matter further. She gave a curt nod, stood up, and retrieved a small holomap from her pocket. She activated it, and a rough 3D model of the target planet appeared between them.

“The market is on Korva Prime—a small but wealthy turquoise-blue planet in the Outer Rim. Officially a trading colony. Unofficially one of the largest black-market hubs for ‘exotic goods’ in the entire sector.”

She zoomed in closer. “My sources say a major auction is taking place there in the next few days. At least twenty surviving Dathomirians are to be sold. Behind it are mainly Zygerrians, supported by the Pyke Syndicate for transport and apparently a Hutt clan for financing.”

Ventress paused briefly, her eyes narrowing.

“And to top it all off: the whole thing is apparently being quietly tolerated by some politicians of your wonderfully noble Republic. Bribery. The usual corruption.”

Ahsoka stared at Ventress. Was she trying to justify her past actions with this?

But Asajj simply continued and pointed to a spot on the map.

“We’ll land here—that’s the spaceport near the capital. The market is right nearby. Things are bound to get chaotic on the ground.”

Ahsoka nodded seriously and committed the map to memory.

Then she had to ask one more question: “Different topic: How did you actually find me? I thought I’d covered my tracks pretty well.”

Asajj laughed mischievously. “I never took my eyes off you after our last encounter. It’s that simple.”

She stood up and returned to the pilot’s seat a short while later. The ship dropped out of hyperspace with a noticeable jolt. Before them shone Korva Prime—a beautiful planet with turquoise-blue oceans, bands of white clouds, and emerald-green continents.

Ahsoka stared at the surface. The planet’s beauty stood in stark contrast to what awaited them there.

Suddenly the memories came flooding back: the burning chains on Zygerria, the humiliating auctions, the looks of the slavers who had regarded her as livestock. Anger rose hot and sharp within her—a dark, unrestrained fury she, as a former Jedi, was not supposed to feel.

She clenched her fists in her lap and breathed slowly in and out.

This is not good…, she thought. This is not good at all.

Ventress cast her a brief sideways glance, as if she could sense the surging emotions. But she said nothing. Instead, she guided the ship into the atmosphere…

She piloted the vessel with practiced ease onto one of the mid-level landing platforms of Korva Prime’s crowded spaceport. No frantic landing, no flashy maneuvers—just another bounty hunter blending in among the many others. The ship shuddered as it touched down, and the ramp in the rear lowered with a hydraulic hiss.

She put on her helmet, which completely concealed her pale skin and distinctive tattoos. Then she held out a second, somewhat battered bounty hunter helmet to Ahsoka. “Put it on,” she said firmly. “No discussion. You’re still wanted. Most of the bounty hunters here know your face.”

Ahsoka hesitated only briefly, then took the helmet and pulled it over her head. It didn’t fit particularly well and pressed against her temples.

Then they left the ship. Ventress’s boots clacked on the metal while Ahsoka’s bare feet made soft patting sounds with every step.

As she looked around, she felt a cold shiver run down her spine.

Not only because of the figures moving everywhere—brutal Zygerrians, armed Pyke mercenaries, known pirates like Hondo Ohnaka’s crew, and various other scum… but especially because of what she sensed from Ventress in the Force. There was trust. A genuine, if reluctant, trust. And beneath it… a strange, dark excitement. Almost like anticipation. Anger, yes. But also a dark, adrenaline-fueled drive that felt almost like a twisted adventure.

By the Moons of Iego… what is happening to us right now?

They left the ship. The hot, humid air of the tropical planet washed over them, carrying the mingled scents of spices, fuel, and sweat.

As they made their way through the narrow alleys of the spaceport market, they were approached after only a few minutes. A stocky, four-armed Kalleran stepped into their path.

“Hey, you two look like you know your way around. I need someone reliable for a professional hit. Good pay.”

Ventress stopped briefly, took the man’s card, and gave a curt nod. “No time right now. But I’ll keep it in mind.”

Once the Kalleran had moved on, Ahsoka looked at her in confusion from the side.

“Seriously? You’d really still take jobs like that?”

Ventress merely shrugged. “You take what you can get.”

They continued strolling through the large central marketplace, which was seething with criminal energy. Ahsoka felt her stomach growl. The scent of fresh, juicy fruit drew her to a stall. Without thinking, she bought a large purple fruit and was about to bite into it—only to realize she was still wearing the helmet.

“Damn it…” she muttered, annoyed at her own foolishness. She tossed the fruit aside and hurried after Ventress, who was already well ahead.

Ventress stood motionless beside a massive pillar, staring across at a row of large energy cages and transport containers. Ahsoka stepped up beside her.

Over the secure helmet comm she heard Ventress’s quiet, tense voice:

“According to my readings, there are at least two hundred living beings in those containers. Presumably all Dathomirians… my people.”

Ahsoka followed her gaze.

In one of the open cages, a Dathomirian woman was being put on display. She hung in hovering energy restraints, her body covered in whip marks. Three Zygerrians laughed loudly and yanked her back and forth by the chains, advertising her as “particularly wild and entertaining merchandise.” The woman spat in one of their faces and received another brutal lash for it.

Ahsoka felt a terrible, hot anger rise within her. Her hands clenched into fists. At the same time she cast a quick sideways glance at Ventress and felt genuine concern for what was going on inside the other woman. The darkness she sensed in her was deeper and more personal than ever before.

The former assassin took half a step forward, her hand already on the hilt of her lightsaber.

“Ventress!” Ahsoka hissed over the secure helmet comm, gripping her firmly by the forearm. “Not now! That would backfire!”

Ventress yanked her arm free, her voice growling through the comm.

“Don’t touch me!”

“We can’t lose our heads right now!” Ahsoka replied sharply. “There are hundreds of armed mercenaries and pirates here. If we strike now, it won’t just be the slavers who die—innocents and prisoners will die in the crossfire too. Too many collateral casualties!”

Ventress laughed bitterly.

“Collateral casualties? This place is nothing but scum of the galaxy.”

Ahsoka instinctively looked around. The crowd of criminals, slavers, and armed thugs… She had to admit that Obi-Wan would have said exactly the same thing in a place like this. Scum of the galaxy.

Still, Obi-Wan had only ever resorted to violence as a last resort.

Ventress was just about to say something when sudden movement erupted near one of the large containers.

Two Zygerrians dragged out a small girl with pale skin and the characteristic tattoos of a young Dathomirian. The girl fought desperately, screaming and kicking. The slavers only laughed and dragged her onto a small auction platform, where an energy collar was already being fastened around her neck.

“Fresh stock! Young and wild!” one of the auctioneers bellowed. “Who’s making the first bid?”

At the same moment, the other chained woman was whipped again.

Ventress froze for half a second. Then something inside her snapped. That was too much. “No…” Her voice was now nothing more than a deep, dangerous growl.

“Ventress—wait!” Ahsoka called out.

But it was too late.

Ventress tore herself free, drew both yellow lightsabers, and leaped into the crowd with a furious cry. The blades hissed to life. In the next instant she severed the arm of the first Zygerrian holding the girl.

Chaos erupted.

Screams. Blaster fire. Panic.

Ventress moved like a whirlwind of pure rage. She cut through two more guards before they could even raise their weapons. The crowd scattered, but not everyone fled—many drew blasters of their own and opened fire.

Ahsoka cursed aloud. She could feel Ventress’s raging fury in the Force like a roaring tidal wave. She felt exactly the same—this burning, righteous anger… But unlike Ventress, she also saw the catastrophe that was unfolding.

More mercenaries, pirates, and even a few Republic security officers were pouring onto the square from all sides. Blaster bolts rained down on Ventress. She deflected most of them with her lightsabers, cutting down two more Zygerrians—but more and more fire was concentrating on her.

She had no chance. Did she actually want to die?

Ahsoka stood frozen for a moment. Her heart pounded. This was going terribly wrong!

+++

Ahsoka closed her eyes briefly, took a deep breath—and let go.

The Force flowed through her, hot and powerful. Her body began to grow. Fast. Unstoppable. Her clothing stretched with her, but she tore off the annoying helmet during the growth and tossed it aside. Within seconds she already towered high above the marketplace.

She felt the shock ripple through the crowd, but the first blaster shots came quickly—tiny pinpricks against her skin. Blaster fire tickled more than it hurt.

A few heavier projectiles left small, burning wounds, which she sealed instantly with the Force. Force Healing at this scale was especially easy to apply.

She lifted her foot…

And brought it down.

Her enormous bare foot descended on an entire group of Zygerrians and mercenaries who had been firing at Ventress. The crunching and the screams were brief and brutal. Dust and debris billowed upward. Ahsoka felt the soft yielding beneath her sole—and hated herself a little for how… satisfying it felt.

Ventress whirled around and stared upward. Her helmet hid her face, but Ahsoka sensed her surprise and genuine awe through the Force like a bright flash.

“By the Force…” Ventress murmured over the comm, half in wonder, half laughing. “You really are incredible, Tano.”

Ahsoka didn’t answer. She stepped forward again, crushing another group of shooters who had been firing at Ventress from the side. Her sole left a deep imprint in the stone floor.

Ventress used the distraction to cut her way through the ranks. She was impressed—Ahsoka could feel it clearly. The usually superior, cynical woman was, for a moment, completely overwhelmed by the sheer power Ahsoka had just unleashed.

And that was exactly why Ventress made a mistake.

In her excitement and adrenaline rush, she became careless. A blaster bolt struck her directly in the left upper arm. The armor absorbed some of the impact, but the force knocked her off her feet. She cried out and hit the ground, blood seeping through the damaged plating.

“Ventress!” Ahsoka called in alarm.

She saw more mercenaries preparing to open fire on the fallen Ventress. Quickly and precisely, Ahsoka crushed everyone around her. Short, rapid stomps while her bare feet thundered almost dancingly around the former Sith. With a pain-twisted face, Ventress stared up at Ahsoka. Just the way her enormously long legs moved around her and how elegantly her bare feet came down on the enemies, crushing them, was almost hypnotic.

“What… a power!” she whispered in awe.

Ahsoka realized that the mercenaries at her feet weren’t the only problem. There were also shooters on the rooftops!

She saw no other way…

She focused on Ventress, reached out with the Force—and shared her ability…

Ventress’s body suddenly began to grow. Fast. Powerful.

Within seconds, it was no longer a normal woman lying on the ground, but a gigantic, furious Dathomirian who rose with a wild cry.

She stared for a moment at her own enormous hands. Then at Ahsoka.

“You… made me bigger too?” she murmured over the helmet comm, almost in disbelief. “I’m even a bit taller than you. But… why?”

She tore off her helmet and tossed it aside as well, smashing a small warehouse on impact.

Her short white-silver hair whipped in the wind, her pale skin shimmering in the light of the setting sun.

Ventress looked around—the buildings now only reached her hips, the people were tiny insects at her feet. A deep, rough laugh escaped her throat.

“By the Moons of Dathomir… this is… incredible.”

Without hesitation she lifted her boot over some pirates—and crushed the entire group. The stomp was brutal, and the crunch echoed loudly across the square.

Ahsoka, who had just taken out a squad of Zygerrians with a precise stomp of her own, called out immediately: “Ventress! Take off your boots! You need to feel what you’re stepping on, otherwise you’ll crush innocents too. Barefoot you can distinguish much better!”

Ventress turned her head toward her, a mocking grin on her face.

“Barefoot? Seriously?” She laughed briefly, but then saw Ahsoka’s serious look and said, “Fine. If you insist.”

She quickly pulled off the heavy boots and hurled them into a residential area.

Then she continued stomping… but this time barefoot.

A Zygerrian saw the enormous pale foot descending. The sole was flawlessly smooth and moved with impossible speed. He wanted to scream, wanted to run—but the shadow was already over him. Heat washed over him, a heavy, warm scent of sweat and dust. In a fraction of a second the pressure came down. Relentless. The soft, living skin pressed him flat until his bones gave way and he burst.

Ventress let out a soft, pleasurable moan as she crushed the next group of slavers more slowly and deliberately beneath her sole. She rolled her foot slightly back and forth, savoring every single crunch, every twitch beneath her warm skin.

“Mmmh… that feels… so good, how helpless they are,” she whispered, more to herself. The dark side surged hot and strong through her—pure, unrestrained power, superiority, vengeance. Her eyes glowed with dark delight.

Ahsoka watched with mixed feelings. She herself was crushing more and more gangsters and mercenaries who stood no chance against the two giant women. Her own enormous feet pulverized entire groups of armed fighters who fired desperately at her. The blaster shots barely tickled anymore. But she tried to stay deliberate—only the fighters, not the fleeing civilians.

Ventress, on the other hand, made no distinction. She simply stepped wherever she pleased—and savored every second of it. Civilians who tolerated such markets didn’t deserve any better anyway!

She was completely in her element. She moved slowly through the ranks of fleeing bandits and pirates with an almost dreamy smile. Again and again she lifted her foot and lowered it deliberately slowly over one group after another, savoring their desperation, and finally pressed down until it crunched.

The pale, gigantic sole crushed more and more people, and Ventress laughed softly and darkly.

Every now and then she twisted her foot lightly, as if grinding nuts, and sighed contentedly.

“Mmmh… yes… just like that.”

She lifted some other pirates with two fingers—tiny, wriggling figures who screamed and flailed. Ventress regarded them for a moment with cold pleasure, then opened her mouth and tossed them inside, swallowing them whole.

It gave her pure satisfaction to know what a terrible end these types would meet in her stomach!

The dark side pulsed through her like a second heartbeat. Her eyes shone with pure, unrestrained power.

Ahsoka stood a few steps away and felt her own anger and a deep pleasure rising within her. She had tried to suppress it—but here, amid this scum who treated innocents like livestock, it was difficult.

I shouldn’t enjoy this…, she thought. This is unworthy of a Jedi…

But she was no longer a Jedi.

When some mercenaries opened fire on her, she slowly crushed them flat. Her soft, warm sole descended over them. She felt the tiny bodies first as light resistance—then as yielding, warm crunching. The men literally burst under the pressure, their bodies giving way with a wet, crunching sound, as if ripe fruit were being squashed.

The sensation was intense: soft flesh bursting beneath her skin, small sharp cracks of bone, a brief, moist pulsing before everything went still.

Ahsoka drew a deep breath. A shiver ran down her spine. She enjoyed it. More than she wanted to admit. Was this the dark side?

“Damn it…” she murmured quietly to herself as she lightly twisted her foot and rubbed the remains into the stone floor. “That feels… too good.”

She wrestled with herself—a brief, sharp stab of guilt—but then she saw the cages with the imprisoned Dathomirians again, saw the whip marks, the fear in their eyes. And the guilt faded.

They deserve it, she thought. These people deserve it.

She stepped forward again, this time onto an entire row of pirates trying to take cover behind a container. Once more came the deep, satisfying crunch. Once more came the feeling of her soft, warm sole slowly and inexorably crushing the helpless bodies until only red stains and flattened armor fragments remained in her footprint.

Ventress shot her a sideways glance and grinned broadly.

She said nothing, but she knew what Tano was feeling.

The pale giantess continued stomping when suddenly several heavy cannons on the roofs of the surrounding buildings opened fire. Heavy plasma cannons and rocket launchers—the really serious ordnance!

The impacts struck her legs and torso. Every hit burned like fire. Burn wounds spread across her pale skin, smoking red welts that hurt like hell.

She growled deep and animalistic, but ignored the pain completely. She focused and pulled some of the shooters from the rooftops with the Force, placing them literally beneath her sole. “This is your place!” Then she stepped down. Her enormous bare foot descended slowly and pleasurably onto her new victims. The crunching was loud and wet. The soft sole pressed the men and women into the ground until only red stains remained.

Ahsoka saw it clearly: the dark side in Ventress grew stronger. Her eyes, which had been icy blue just moments before, slowly began shifting to an eerie yellow. Her gaze became empty, almost psychopathic—pure, unrestrained destructive fury.

Ahsoka wanted to say something, wanted to hold her back… but could she say anything when she herself felt the darkness? She herself was enjoying the feeling of crushing the helpless gangsters like insects beneath her feet.

So she held back.

And did something else instead… She stretched out her hand and focused on the wounds of the other giantess. The Force flowed warm and healing toward Ventress. The burn wounds on the pale giantess closed, and her skin regenerated within seconds.

Ventress felt it immediately. She paused briefly, looked down at the healing wounds, then turned her head toward Ahsoka. In her yellow eyes something flickered that was extremely rare for her: genuine, heartfelt gratitude.

Why is she doing this?, Ventress thought. I’m behaving like a damn monster… and she’s healing me? Why has she been so good to me this whole time?

She couldn’t remember the last time she had felt anything like it. The frenzy inside her eased a little. The yellow shimmer in her eyes faded somewhat. She could think more clearly again.

Immediately the large containers and cages caught her attention… and the people inside who were fearing for their lives. Asajj felt deep compassion. She had to make sure no one got hurt. And it was right at that moment when some pirates tried to break into one of the cages, probably to take hostages as living shields.

Ventress’s expression hardened again. With a wave of her hand she pulled the bandits toward her with the Force—directly beneath her enormous pale foot.

“No… please not…” one of them screamed.

Ventress only smiled coldly and pressed down slowly. The soft sole crushed the pirates slowly but powerfully, and she visibly savored it.

Then she looked down at one of the cages, where a frightened young Dathomirian woman stood. The woman stared up at her—completely stunned, full of fear of the gigantic pale giantess who had just crushed her tormentors.

Ventress gave her a brief nod. “I’m getting you out of here!”

Ahsoka destroyed several ships in the port that were trying to take off. She first held them in place with the Force, then clenched her hand into a fist, crushing the ships and everyone inside. The mangled metal lumps then crashed thunderously to the ground.

The two giant women could no longer be stopped.

Ventress roared with dark joy and kicked with full force against a nearby building whose roof mounted heavy gun turrets. The entire structure shuddered, cracks spreading through the walls. With another powerful kick the façade collapsed. The building came crashing down. The bandits and gunners inside had no chance—they were buried under tons of rubble. Their screams fell silent quickly beneath the thundering collapse.

Ahsoka did the same. She kicked hard against a tower, which immediately collapsed and buried everyone inside.

“Watch out!” Ahsoka called suddenly.

A fast fighter raced straight toward Ventress and fired a salvo of heavy laser cannons. The shots struck the pale giantess in the torso and left smoking burn wounds.

Ventress spun around, her yellow eyes flashing. With a single, powerful motion she raised her enormous yellow lightsaber and sliced the oncoming fighter in half in mid-air. The machine exploded in a fireball. Ventress laughed darkly and deflected further shots from two following fighters with her blade. The deflected laser bolts flew back and struck the attackers’ own cannons. Both fighters exploded in the air.

Around the two giantesses it gradually grew quieter. Most of the bandits, mercenaries, and pirates had either been crushed, slain, or fled.

Ventress was just about to lunge at the last few survivors when Ahsoka held her back.

“Wait… take it slow, Asajj,” she said, almost tenderly, in a calm voice. “I can see you’re enjoying this. So take your time.”

Ventress was surprised once again. Ahsoka kept surprising her. Then she nodded slowly. A satisfied smile spread across her face.

She used the Force once more to pull a corrupt Republican politician and a fat Hutt directly in front of her pale feet. The little figures struggled in vain, and Ventress had to smirk as she watched.

“Yes, try everything. But you can’t escape me. Your end will be beneath my sole. Because you are nothing more than dirt under my feet!”

The men screamed, tried to crawl, begged for mercy. Ventress savored every second of it. This was all far too good!

She slid her foot over the tiny figures and pressed down very slowly. Millimeter by millimeter. The soft sole slowly compressed their bodies. The screams grew higher and more panicked… until they finally fell silent in a wet, final crunch.

Ventress let out a soft, satisfied moan.

“That… was really… incredibly good.”

Ahsoka pushed another man toward her with her big toe—the obvious boss of the slavers. The man crawled backward in panic.

“Here’s another one,” she said calmly.

But Ventress shook her head.

“No. That’s kind of you. But… I’ve had my revenge. He’s yours. I… just want to watch.”

She knelt down, bringing her enormous face close to Ahsoka’s foot. Her pale eyes gleamed with dark curiosity.

Ahsoka felt a brief moment of embarrassment… but then she simply decided to put on a good show.

She slowly lowered her big toe onto the man. The boss screamed, pounding his fists against the warm, soft skin. Ahsoka pressed down very slowly. She imprinted the pattern of her skin onto the tiny body… feeling how it gave way under the pressure—first the cracking of ribs, then the wet bursting as he was completely crushed beneath her toe.

Ventress stood up, breathing heavily, her enormous hands still slightly clenched. Her breath came hard, sweat glistening on her pale skin. She looked at Ahsoka, a rare, almost reverent smile on her lips.

“That… was… an expression of your true power,” she said softly. “I admit, I am… impressed.”

Then she turned her gaze across the devastated square. Most of the nearby buildings had collapsed or were heavily damaged, but the large energy cages and transport containers were largely intact. The prisoners—hundreds of frightened Dathomirians—seemed unharmed.

Ventress slowly crouched down. Her gigantic form cast a long shadow over the cages. She carefully reached out and destroyed the energy chains of the young Dathomirian woman who was still bound to a post and had been whipped earlier.

The woman slumped down exhausted.

Ventress gently lifted her with both hands and held her in her open palm.

“Don’t worry, my sister,” she said in a surprisingly gentle voice. “I… We… have come to rescue you.”

The young Dathomirian stared up at the enormous pale woman with wide, tear-filled eyes. She trembled, but managed only a weak nod.

Ahsoka watched the scene from the side. Her heart warmed. She had never seen Ventress so compassionate, almost… caring. This hard, cynical killer who had just been crushing people with relish now held an injured woman like a fragile jewel in her hand. It was a completely new side of her. And Ahsoka felt that it had been a good decision to help her—despite all her initial doubts.

She took a step closer, held her hand over Asajj’s, and focused on healing the wounds of the tiny woman… though they were very severe… She could only ease the lighter injuries. The rest would take a long time to heal.

Ventress straightened up again, carefully holding the small Dathomirian in her hand, and looked gratefully at Ahsoka.

“What do we do now?” she asked. “So many people won’t fit in my ship…”

The Togruta giantess raised an eyebrow and smiled mischievously.

“Please don’t be mad at me for this…”

She gestured with her large hand toward the cages and containers and made a gentle downward motion. The large containers and cages suddenly began to shrink—exactly like the people inside them. Within seconds they were no bigger than toys.

“I can not only enlarge… but also shrink,” Ahsoka explained. “And don’t worry. I’ll make them normal size again once we’ve brought them—wherever we take them.”

Ventress stared speechlessly for a moment at the tiny containers at her feet. Then she nodded slowly.

“I… am not angry at all.” Her voice was quiet, almost shy. “Thank you for your help… I know an uninhabited planet, far off the beaten path. I think we’ll take them there.”

With that, she carefully carried the first shrunken containers to her ship and gently slid them into the cargo hold. It was a strange sight—the gigantic Ventress loading her own now tiny-looking ship.

Ahsoka helped her and brought more containers. Together they stowed the rescued Dathomirians as carefully as possible.

“Time to go back to normal size,” Ahsoka said softly.

With a gentle gesture she first shrank Ventress and then herself back to normal size. The transition felt strange—as if the world had suddenly become larger and more unpredictable again.

Ventress let out a soft, almost sad moan as she stood in her usual size once more. She looked down at herself, clenched her fists, and murmured:

“Too bad… It was… so incredibly majestic to be that big. So powerful.” She looked at Ahsoka with an almost pleading gaze. “You couldn’t teach me how to do that, could you?”

Ahsoka shook her head slowly.

“That would require more trust. I helped you. We’re even. Let’s leave it at that.”

Ventress looked disappointed but finally nodded. Without another word she returned to her ship, carefully placed the injured, shrunken Dathomirian into a soft container, quickly checked that she was all right, and then took her place in the pilot’s seat.

“As you wish, Togruta. I’ll be content.”

Ahsoka sat down thoughtfully beside her, more slumped into the seat than sitting properly. The fact that she later rested her bare feet on the console again didn’t bother Ventress at all. On the contrary, she glanced over from time to time and remembered how many bandits had been crushed beneath those soles.

The flight lasted several hours, during which both spoke very little again. Each processed the events in her own way. The screams, the power, the dark emotions… the sudden closeness…

They set the Dathomirians down on a remote, uninhabited planet. Ahsoka enlarged everyone back to normal size, and Ventress handed them important supplies and provisions, saying in an unusually gentle voice:

“I’ll come by again in a few days to bring more. Until then, think about what you want to do now.”

After that the two set off again immediately. Ventress wanted to take Ahsoka home, but she insisted that the next space station would be perfectly sufficient.

Ventress found that convenient. She still had a lot to take care of. So she dropped Ahsoka off at a Republic space base, waited until the Togruta was safely on her way to the space taxis, and only then flew on…

Ahsoka watched as Ventress’s ship lifted off and jumped into hyperspace. What a crazy adventure. She had never thought she would one day become gigantic with someone… and certainly not with Ventress… but… it… it had been an incredibly good experience!

And she almost hoped it wouldn’t be the last one…

Asajj was alone in the cockpit once more. Just her and the vast, silent expanse of space.

But somehow the emptiness she had carried for so long… was gone.

This day had changed everything. She had finally let her emotions run free—rage, vengeance, power—and yet, for the first time in years, she had not been consumed by them. She had kept control. And she knew, deep down, that it was largely because of Ahsoka’s calm, steady presence.

She had fought side by side with a former Jedi… and they had understood each other. Not as enemies. Not as tools. But as two broken souls who, for a brief time, had chosen the same path.

It was insane.

Would it last? They were clearly not friends… not yet…

Several hours of flight had passed when Asajj suddenly received a message. Her computer gave a soft, single beep. She opened it with a hesitant finger.

The text was short and simple:

“I believe you wanted this. Please don’t share it with anyone. Read it and destroy it. Until next time. – Ahsoka.”

Below it was an attachment.

Ventress opened the file. Her eyes widened, breath catching in her throat.

“This… this is a digital copy of the Jedi text… on Force growth?”

For a long moment she simply stared at the screen, unable to believe what she was seeing. Ahsoka had sent it. Willingly. Without any demand, without any condition. Just… trust.

Ventress closed her eyes. A single tear slipped down her pale cheek.

“We… we are friends!”

THE END
