These episodes were an emotional rollercoaster.Episode 5 completely surprised me. Going in I didn't think I would enjoy it lol. An arranged marriage, a princess who was so young.. I expected it to be about someone trapped in a life they didn't choose. But then the story shifted. Charlotte wasn't crying because of the marriage, but because the love letters weren't real.It ended up being such a beautiful story about two genuine people trying to find something honest in a world full of keeping up appearances, political expectations, and social elitism. And watching Violet be the one to bridge that gap had me so proud of her. But then Gilbert's brother showed up & said some insane things??Now I'm wondering.. Who is Violet really? He mentioned she killed his comrades. But they were on the same side of the war, right? What was she doing on that ship? Was she already trained before she was ever used as a weapon during the war? Where did she come from? Then we met Leon. The perfect partner for Violet during that assignment. I loved watching them confide in one another. They are two similar people carrying different kinds of loneliness. Leon spent so much of his life believing the world was small because fear kept him inside. Violet in her own way had done the same because duty was the only thing she'd ever known.I love that through that simple, honest rooftop conversation they both helped each other realize that life can become so much bigger if you stop letting your fears define the edges of your world. And watching Leon fall in love with Violet during that realization was so sweet. He never tried to take away what she felt for the Major either. He just whole heartedly appreciated who she was. Then Episode 7 hit me like a tidal wave. For a bit there I didn't think I'd be able to keep watching. It hurt too much. When the episode ended, I made myself some tea and hugged my daughter.I spent the rest of the night feeling incredibly grateful.I love stories like this. That make you pause, slow down, and really look around for a minute.See you all next week for more 🤍Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿Want to watch in dub?Sync Along Video Link: https://youtu.be/NhyQ3kSJLa4I watched this on Netflix in original Japanese with subtitles
