A rocky cliff beach battlemap around a lagoon, whirlpool, shrine, or other strange hazards, fit for encounters with strange beasts & youkai in all kinds of biomes … whether that be while camping away from the ship, climbing through the vast floating-island spirit realm, fighting a water deity in its home shrine or staring down a demon at the edge of the blood sea.

Thoughts

Throw a deep-water tunnel connection that links to the bottom of the lagoon. Hide a dungeon down there.

A local great bird can be tamed with fish, nearby travelers say. Maybe it’ll help in the fight!

The top-left corner has a ledge where the cliff walls are deliberately hidden. For encounters with wild animals on their turf, consider making this a cave or burrow entrance!

Contents

Cliff Beach: A beautiful temperate beach lined with granite cliffs! Good for hunting giant hermit crabs. And kappa.

Autumn: A deep hue has overtaken the beach! Winter is on its way.

Winter: This land hasn’t seen sun in six months. Those “trees” are all fossilized.

Spring: A good time for vacations, and for interrupting them.

Desert: A sandy coastline where the grass is barely hanging on.

Blood Sea: They say it’s the end of something. Try not to slip & go tumbling down off the cliff.

Dragon-Beast Skeleton: A gigantic bleached skeleton has sat here for ages. Or possibly just years.

Floating: The edge of a gigantic floating island!

Landing Camp: A small camp set up from the occupants of two rowboats. PCs, bandits, stranded refugees?

Shrine: A huge shrine built over the lagoon. They say a god rests in the depths. They also say ghosts dance along the ropes at night.

Spirit World: A vast jungle-like spirit world! Pairs with the Hidden Spirit Tree Library & the Palace Courtyard!

Whirlpool: A gigantic magical whirlpool that only appears on the full moon! Try not to get sucked into the vortex … while killing whatever’s making it!

Canopy Overlays: Built for VTT canopy usage!

Day/Night/Rain Variants: Wherever applicable!

Dimensions

24”×36” wide/tall
