A commission for Cheyen128 based on a scene from the 6th Pokémon movie.
One night, Harmony and Paxton were chilling at a carnival in the countryside, eating food, watching performances, and even playing some of those blatantly rigged carnival games. It had been a long drive to get here, and the two had even gotten a little tipsy after partaking in some alcohol, making them both act just a bit goofy. But despite their exhaustion and intoxication, they simply smiled the night away without a care in the world.
But then, the ground shook as a low, rumbling growl rattled through the forest, bringing the festivities to a halt instantly as everyone went silent. It was as if the entire carnival had been petrified by fear, laughter turning to gasps and murmurs as everyone began looking up to the trees around them. Then, everyone could feel subtle vibrations beneath the ground, as if a giant pair of footsteps were approaching. That's when they heard another deafening roar, something that didn't quite sound animalistic, but something more uncanny.
The crowd grew increasingly panicked, some even screaming as people began to scramble in all directions. Intoxicated, Harmony and Paxton were still processing the panic, as they looked up at a pair of large glowing yellow eyes cutting through the dark sky above. It growled again, its whole body glowing, illuminated eyes lit up the area, a tall, gargantuan Pokémon. It looked like… a Groudon, but something was horribly off: blueish green tendrils extended from where the horns should be, it didn't have any pupils in its irises, and its body looked strangely translucent. Not to mention, Groudon’s we're supposed to be extinct! While everyone was running, the two intoxicated trainers didn't know how to react until the tentacles began slithering down upon the carnival.
One by one, the tentacles began to snatch up people from the crowd. But instead of grabbing them, the people could be seen sinking into the tentacles like goop, their cries for help quickly turning into gooey gurgles as they disappeared inside. Their eyes wide in terror, the two trainers looked at each other before bolting in the other direction, only for a giant tentacle to drop on top of them. Instantly, they found themselves surrounded by a thick jelly-like substance, as they could feel themselves being pulled through the tentacle. The jelly was so thick, they couldn't even take a breath, the liquid acted like a thick rubber that enveloped their whole bodies. But then, a large air pocket began to expand between them, pulling to both into a protective bubble around them, allowing them both to breathe.
Before long, their air bubble entered inside the body of the giant Groudon, along with dozens of other people floating around them in identical pockets of air. People struggled inside the air bubbles, slipping, sliding, and struggling to find some kind of purchase inside their prisons. From the outside, it just looked like the creature was full of giant blood cells, when in reality, it was trapping people to drain their energy. Baffled, Harmony began pressing her hands against the surface, her large chest stretching up the rubbery membrane as she frantically pushed at it. Paxton, on the other hand, managed to get some semblance of leverage, standing up inside the bubble and stretching out the membrane in an attempt to break it. Their panicked breaths echoed throughout their small prison, the membrane creaking around them as they struggled to get free. Unfortunately, they weren’t just trapped in any kind of bubble, it was an air pocket reinforced by the surface tension of the thick fluid making up Groudon’s body, making it impossible to get out.
As the two struggled in vain, their bubble prison would wobble, spin, and bump against the other bubble as the Groudon absorbed their energy. Eventually, the two became too exhausted to move, simply lying down together as they waited for rescue.
